The history of running a school can be traced back to the Agriculture Department of Jiangkou Branch of No.3 Middle School, founded by the National Government during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, 1938. In 2002, Tongren's agricultural schools, health schools, financial schools, commercial schools and advanced vocational schools were merged and established, and upgraded to ordinary colleges and universities at the junior college level. 20 15 12 16 became a university established by the state ethnic affairs commission and the people's government of Guizhou province.
