Jiang Junping’s personal experience

From 1980 to 1983, he engaged in research on mechanical vibration and system identification in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Cincinnati and the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Maryland. Later he served as technician, engineer and senior engineer at the Tenth Design Institute of the Ministry of Electronic Industry. He is a member of the 5th and 6th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He has made contributions to the research on structural dynamics, mechanical vibration, system identification and computer applications, and has achieved results in the development of computer software for modal parameter identification. Author of "Vibration Calculation and Vibration Isolation Design".

On a pole, carrying two shabby luggages, with bare feet reluctant to put on a pair of old cloth shoes until entering the city, this is Jiang Junping. In 1954, this poor boy from the countryside came to his dream institution of higher learning, Tsinghua University, from the countryside of Jinhua, Zhejiang.

“The edge of a sword comes from grinding, and the fragrance of plum blossoms comes from the bitter cold.” The bitter cold adds to the fragrance of winter plums, and hardships have created Jiang Junping’s profound theoretical foundation. During the five years of college, every weekend, holiday, or even winter and summer vacation, when most of his classmates went to the city or went home, Jiang Junping would race against time in the school library to study knowledge. He did not return home once in five years. Therefore, his business knowledge is very rich, and he is also outstanding and rare among his classmates.

Not long after, the political situation suddenly changed, especially the arrival of the "anti-rightist" movement. Intellectuals were severely hit and destroyed. However, Jiang Junping only knew that he went to college to pursue knowledge and never cared about these "politics." Therefore, when no one was paying attention, he ignored the party branch's notice that everyone must participate in the criticism meeting, and quietly hid in a corner of the campus to chew on his beloved professional book. For this reason, he was put up with a big-character poster and criticized as a typical example of the "white professional path". After that, he had no choice but to participate in sports honestly, but while sitting at the meeting, he was still thinking about foreign language words or mechanical formulas.

In order to welcome the 10th anniversary of the National Day, the central government decided to build ten major buildings in the capital and assigned the two National Day projects designed by Tsinghua University: the National Science and Technology Museum and the National Grand Theatre. At that time, the most popular advanced structural form was the reinforced concrete shell. In the structural plan, the auditorium of the National Center for the Performing Arts uses a huge hyperbolic flat shell, and the stage entrance beam adopts a box-shaped thin-walled structure. Computing shells requires skilled knowledge of elastic mechanics.

Jiang Junping stood up at the critical moment: "I'll give it a try!" It turned out that this "backward mass" who followed the "white expert road" had already studied hard on his own and transformed Vladislav, the Soviet elastic mechanics leader. He has thoroughly studied his husband's classic works, and "people with high skills are bold", so he is confident. Although due to the limited national power at that time, the National Science and Technology Museum and the National Grand Theater were not built in the end. However, under the guidance of the teacher and the leadership of Jiang Junping, the students finally completed the design calculations, from which they increased their knowledge, trained their team, and benefited a lot.

Jiang Junping’s outstanding academic performance made him stand out. When he was assigned for graduation, the school gave him the only place in the Tenth Design Institute of the Ministry of Electronic Industry, which was the most outstanding in the allocation plan at that time. He also unexpectedly found love, and a beautiful girl of the same grade became his "confidant" in life.

In fact, it was not suitable for Jiang Junping to be assigned to that design institute, because the institute mainly designed electronic products, and those who studied civil engineering could only play supporting roles there. But Jiang Junping is obviously not content with just being a supporting role. Soon, he discovered that my country's factory design was developing towards multi-layer and even high-rise buildings. How to solve the problem of moving electromechanical equipment with different frequencies, amplitudes, and different vibration loads upstairs is an important issue that needs to be faced urgently. With his profound knowledge of dynamics theory and perseverance in research, Jiang Junping creatively solved this problem. He summarized his research results in the field of my country's architectural structure design and published a 1.5 million-word book "Vibration Calculation and Isolation Design". This book is very theoretical and very practical, with far-reaching influence.

Not long after the reform and opening up, Jiang Junping, who is proficient in business, has outstanding achievements and is very fluent in English, naturally became the first batch of visiting scholars in my country. From 1980 to 1983, he engaged in research on mechanical vibration and system identification in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Cincinnati and the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Maryland.

At that time, system identification was a newly developed discipline, which played an important role in identifying all objects with vibration frequencies. Therefore, once it came out, it was widely used in aerospace, missile rockets, vehicles and ships, as well as the diagnosis of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Its core is the analyzer and computer, the core of the analyzer and computer is modal software, and the core of modal software is vibration frequency curve fitting. It only took Jiang Junping less than a year to create a modal software that surpassed the highest research results in the United States at that time in terms of fitting vibration frequency curves.

At the 9th National Annual Conference on Applied Mechanics held at Cornell University in the United States, Jiang Junping read an academic paper entitled "Vibration with Structural Damping System". The advanced scientific research results of this Chinese scholar shocked the American scientific and technological community, thereby increasing our country's world prestige in this academic field.

Jiang Junping’s mentor, the famous Professor Jackson of the University of Maryland, was extremely satisfied with Jiang Junping’s scientific research results and decided to retain him with a high salary. But Jiang Junping declined the professor's kindness and was determined to return to his motherland and use his scientific research results to contribute to the modernization of the motherland.

After returning to China, with the support of his unit leaders and comrades, Jiang Junping quickly developed his advanced identification system into a modal software package. But when he was confidently preparing to apply this high-tech technology to production, he encountered unexpected difficulties. At the time of the dilemma, a boiler accessories factory in Jingjiang, Jiangsu came to the door and asked to use Jiang Junping's software package to test a small shock-absorbing rubber pad produced in Japan in order to improve its performance and copy it. Jiang Junping immediately conducted the test. Based on the measured data, he quickly discovered the unreasonableness of the original design and suggested modifications. After modification, the shock-absorbing effect of this rubber pad has been significantly improved. The person in charge of this small factory readily took out 10,000 yuan as technical design fee. However, Jiang Junping refused and told the person in charge: Not only boilers, but many mechanical equipment need shock absorption. He suggested that the factory should instead produce shock absorbers to meet the rapid development of my country's mechanical equipment. Jiang Junping's suggestion was immediately adopted by the other party, and soon the Jiangsu Jingjiang Shock Absorber Factory was established. This originally humble small factory quickly developed into a well-known local leading enterprise with amazing benefits.

This incident deeply touched Jiang Junping. He remembered that Professor Jackson had chased him to China not long ago and once again begged him to go to the United States with his wife. However, he still politely refused, and he felt very guilty. . Jiang Junping found that his decision was completely correct. The motherland, especially the booming township and village enterprises in the country, especially needs him. As the son of a farmer, Jiang Junping knows how hard it is for farmers to start a business. Therefore, when someone comes to seek technical help, Jiang Junping always welcomes them, warmly welcomes them, and helps them explore from scratch until the problem is completely solved.

The Shantou Photosensitive Materials Factory negotiated with Japan's Fujifilm Co., Ltd. to introduce one of their production lines. However, the Japanese side was always worried about the local geological vibration problem, because this is an important condition affecting the quality of film production. Relevant personnel from the Shantou factory made a special trip to Beijing to consult Jiang Junping. Jiang Junping and his assistant immediately rushed to the Shantou site to conduct on-site investigation and testing. They fully grasped the stratigraphic structure and surrounding environment and other relevant data, and after accurate calculations, they came to a positive conclusion. The Japanese side is very satisfied with the result and believes it is the most detailed report the company has ever seen in its cooperation with foreign countries. The negotiations between the two companies were therefore a complete success.

Jiang Junping’s outstanding achievements not only made him famous in the Tenth Design Institute, but also received great attention from the leaders of the Ministry of Electronics Industry. He was successively elected as a member of the 5th, 6th and 7th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He was also the first person in the unit to be awarded the title of "Professor Level Senior Engineer" and the "Scientist with Outstanding Contributions in China" and the "Recipient of the Special Allowance of the State Council", and was honored He joined the Communist Party of China.

One day, someone from the Jinhua Electronic Materials Factory came to see Jiang Junping. They took out an imported anti-static PVC floor and hoped to imitate it. Jiang Junping is well aware that computers, a new thing, will be rapidly popularized in my country and that anti-static flooring will have great applications.

Although he is a mechanic and knows nothing about manufacturing PVC floors, Jiang Junping promised to give them a satisfactory answer as much as possible out of the same feelings for farmers and township enterprises. With his extensive scientific and technological knowledge and the ability to draw parallels from analogies developed in practice, Jiang Junping creatively solved this problem in a short period of time and created a high-efficiency machine designed entirely by himself. Anti-static flooring.

In 1985, the factory began to trial-produce anti-static products using the technology provided by Jiang Junping, and changed its name to Zhejiang Jinhua Tiankai Electronic Materials Co., Ltd. In 1988, the product obtained a national patent. The following year, it was recognized as a national major new product by the State Planning Commission and included in the trial production plan of that year. In 1992, it passed the ministerial appraisal; in 1995, it was listed as a "national science and technology product" by the State Science and Technology Commission. "Achievement Key Promotion Plan Project"; in 1997, the project passed the Zhejiang Provincial Torch Plan Project Acceptance.

In 1997, when Jiang Junping was 60 years old, he could have continued to work in his original employer after retirement, but he could not resist the warm invitation and eager expectations of the villagers. From then on, he returned to his hometown of Jinhua and gathered the chairman, general manager and As a chief engineer, he personally presides over the operation management and new product development of Tiankai Electronic Materials Co., Ltd.

“Actually, my patent does not have much technological content,” Jiang Junping, who is frank by nature, always spreads his hands and says modestly and shyly whenever he talks about his patent with others. Said, "Compared with using elastic mechanics to calculate shells, structural dynamics to calculate vibration, and compiling computer programs for system identification, it is really simple. But unexpectedly, it made me the boss, and I can't push it away even if I want to."

Jiang Junping became the boss, and he was very successful. Under his leadership, the company's products were included in the national Spark Plan project in the second year; it passed ISO9002 international quality system certification in 2000; and passed ISO9001 international quality system certification in 2002. On this basis, the company's business has developed rapidly, the variety of products has also increased day by day, and subsidiaries have emerged all over the country from scratch. The company has more than ten subsidiaries and has become a large chain electronics enterprise in my country.
