CB400 has six gears since its production, with a gear distribution of 1-N-2-3-4-5-6.
CB400 uses the international standard gear. The gear setting is 1-n-2-3-4-5-6. Because the neutral gear is between the first gear and the second gear, from neutral to First gear needs to be depressed, while other upshifts need to be pulled up.
1-N-2-3-4-5-6. Neutral is located between first gear and second gear, while the retro style cb750 and cb400four both have five gears and are air- and oil-cooled. The gear display technology is a patent of Suzuki, so Honda and Yamaha actually do not have a gear display. Even if the instrument is modified with a gear display, it will not be able to display it.

Advantages of CB400:
Improve air utilization and combustion rate, and contribute to environmental protection. At the same time, due to the decrease in the amount of exercise, the engine temperature also decreases, which is more conducive to long-term cruising, and a lot of daily maintenance costs can be omitted.
The frame of the new generation CB400 has been completely reborn compared with the previous generation, and all parts have been strengthened in design. The pedal part has also been moved back, and the gear linkage has been lengthened accordingly.
The fuel capacity is 18L, suitable for long-distance cruising. The original mechanical fuel tank switch has also been omitted and replaced with an automatic switch, which avoids oil spills and engine stalls caused by the owner switching the oil circuit.
A new electronic induction odometer is used to replace the original mechanical version. The LCD jumping odometer has a modern feel, and the indicator lights and fuel gauge are all available.
The front braking system is a pair of floating drilled discs with a diameter of 296mm. It abandons the original Brembo four-piston hydraulic opposed calipers and uses Nissin products with the same design but made in Japan.
