Energy-saving and environmentally friendly ideas

The "Sunflower" that can generate electricity

Walking into the research base of Shanghai Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd. in Xinzhuang is like walking into a green leaf cell, where photoelectric conversion is taking place everywhere "Photosynthesis" - solar power generation.

In this modern factory covering an area of ??6,000 square meters, all electricity used for office and daily life comes from solar power generation: on both sides of the road, small roadside lights have solar cells "over their heads" to absorb solar energy during the day and hide them in the In the underground battery, it can be continuously lit for more than 6 hours at night. The solar cells of about 20 square meters on the roof of the garage greedily absorb solar energy with a power of 260 watts per square meter, and convert it into electric current. After stable processing, it supplies electricity for computers, lighting, air conditioning, etc. in the entire factory area.

Solar cells’ “pursuit” of sunlight has almost reached its limit here. Under the bright sun, the huge dark "solar sunflower tracker" (see picture on the right), like a sunflower, automatically rotates with the sun to obtain as much solar energy as possible and generate more electricity.

These diligent "chlorophylls" are "large-area and high-power crystalline silicon solar modules". According to Yuan Xiao, the inventor of the patent, the component has good UV aging resistance and wind resistance of 2,400 Pa. It is especially suitable for areas with excellent lighting conditions such as Tibet and Yunnan in my country.

At present, this "golden idea" has brought clean electricity to the electricity-free villages in Shigatse, Tibet. More than 1,000 solar power stations have been built across the country and are also exported to European countries. Last year Sales have exceeded 100 million yuan.

Flame-retardant bamboo blanket

Modern high technology has made "light rugs" and "green coir raincoats" softer and cooler than pure cotton cloth, and even have a The luster and feel of silk. In the showroom of Shanghai Institute of Textile Science, the reporter fully experienced the "ice muscle and jade bone" of bamboo fiber fabric.

According to reports, bamboo fiber is acidic and has natural antibacterial function; it is naturally porous and can "take away" heat quickly, giving people a cool feeling. Bamboo grows rapidly, has a short maturity cycle, can be continuously regenerated, and is widely distributed in my country. Such an ideal "substitute" for cotton is really rare.

There are more than 400 kinds of bamboo in China, but only three or four kinds may be used for "weaving". Researchers from the Institute of Textile Science and Technology worked hard to find these fiber-rich bamboos. Bamboo is made into bamboo pulp, and then the fiber is extracted from it. The bamboo fiber is then spun into yarn, woven into cloth, dyed in colorful colors, and cut into clothes and quilts. It becomes bamboo fiber bed sheets, tablecloths, etc. that are comparable to cotton fabrics. Curtains...

The "textile masters" did not stop there. They also developed a flame-retardant bamboo fiber blanket (see picture on the left). Bamboo fiber is not easy to burn when exposed to fire and does not stick to your hands after melting. When made into a blanket, it feels like wool. According to Yin Qingyong, a senior engineer at the hospital, the blanket can remain in a fire for about an hour without burning. In the event of a fire, it becomes a veritable "life-saving blanket."

"Yushi Steel Pipe" directly formed into squares

After more than 20 processes on the assembly line, a 16 mm thick steel plate was gradually bent like origami. It became a sharp U-shape.

This seemingly simple "steel folding" process contains a highly difficult technology, which enabled our country to make for the first time super-large steel with high strength, high earthquake resistance, and high fire and weather resistance. Square and rectangular tubes are formed in one go. Yu Yu, director of the Shanghai Iron and Steel Technology Research Institute, who once shocked the world with the "Yu's Connection", has also made people pay attention to China with his invention patent of "high-strength, high-fire and weather-resistant ultra-large-scale square and rectangular tubes formed in one step" The steel industry is once again impressed.

In the past, square steel pipes were manufactured using the method of "converting round pipes into squares" and welding four steel plates. However, "Yushi Steel Pipe" can directly roll hot-rolled steel coils into square rectangular tubes at room temperature, which is called "direct square formation". The square steel pipe made by this method has a maximum tensile strength of 63 MPa, ranking first in the world among similar steel pipes, while the production power consumption is only 50% of the previous one.

As soon as "Yushi Steel Pipe" came out, it attracted a lot of attention. Yu? told reporters that major projects such as the Shanghai Central Ring Line, Shanghai South Railway Station, Olympic venues, and large bridges in Hong Kong and Macao have begun negotiations with his research institute to prepare for large-scale orders.

He is full of confidence in the future of "Yushi Steel Pipe": by 2006, the annual production capacity of this product will reach 100,000 tons, with sales of at least 500 million yuan.
