Is Suzhou a new first-tier city?

Whether a city can develop smoothly depends not only on its own hard work, but also on objective factors such as geographical location and ecological environment, which can also affect the development of the city. Jiangsu is one of the most economically active provinces in my country. Most of the cities and counties in the province have been selected into the list of top 100 cities and counties, becoming exemplary role models in our country. Suzhou is expected to become a "new first-tier city".

The most important considerations for first-tier cities are divided into two parts: quantifiable economic, financial, population, innovation and housing price indicators and difficult-to-quantify node indicators. There are three economic indicators selected: First, GDP. A large economic size is a necessary condition for becoming a first-tier city. The second is GDP per capita. The higher the GDP per capita, the residents can enjoy a higher level of material life. Third, the higher the proportion of the tertiary industry, the stronger its ability to absorb employment, and the more sustainable economic development is.

Data show that Suzhou’s GDP tax content has reached 13, far exceeding provincial capital cities such as Chongqing, Chengdu, and Changsha. This means that Suzhou has passed the era of investing in infrastructure to boost GDP, and the economic quality is even better! The number of listed companies in Suzhou is 98, ranking fifth in the country; 112 companies are listed on the New OTC Market in Suzhou, ranking third in the country; the number of invention patents owned by Suzhou is fifth in the country; and the number of PCT patent applications is fourth in the country. There are 19,000 millionaires in Suzhou, and there is one millionaire for every 344 people around?

Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province also has very good geographical conditions. It is located northeast of Taihu Lake and on the Beijing-Shanghai Railway line. It has always been a famous city in the south of the Yangtze River. Together with Hangzhou, it is called Suzhou and Hangzhou, and Suzhou gardens are famous for the essence of garden architectural art created by the working people of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties in my country! As a tourist city, it has obvious comparative advantages in the accommodation and catering industry, and it is also relatively professional in leasing business services. At the same time, Suzhou has certain industrial advantages over the country in the fields of industrial manufacturing, wholesale and retail, IT, finance, and environmental protection.

Suzhou occupies a favorable position in the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolitan area, but as it gradually becomes the same city as Shanghai, the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolitan area will be fully integrated into Shanghai and seamlessly connected.
