Admission Mechanism", in accordance with the relevant requirements of the "Implementation Plan for Deepening the Comprehensive Reform of Examination and Enrollment in Colleges and Universities in Shanghai", East China Normal University will continue to implement the pilot program of comprehensive evaluation admission reform in Shanghai in 2020.
1. Selection targets
Candidates who meet the registration conditions for Shanghai’s 2020 Unified Examination for General College Admissions, have excellent overall quality, excellent moral character and academic performance, and are in good health.
2. Enrollment plan and majors
The enrollment plan is subject to the announcement of the Shanghai Education Examination Authority. Please see the attached table for the enrollment professional group information.
3. Registration method and selection procedure
1. Online registration
Candidates need to log in to the "Comprehensive Evaluation Registration System" of the Ministry of Education's Sunshine College Entrance Examination Platform (website: / zhpjbm/) to register. The registration time is from June 10th to 17:00 on June 25th. Fill in the complete registration information as required and submit the application form online. The application form is generated and printed by the system. Each page must be signed by the candidate and stamped with the official seal of the middle school. It contains basic information, middle school information, score information, personal statement, comprehensive information, etc. The personal statement is limited to 1,000 words and includes self-evaluation, display of personality or expertise, reasons for choosing East China Normal University, future career development plans, etc. Candidates must upload a complete application form to the registration platform. Please use a scanned copy rather than a photocopy to ensure that the electronic file is clear and readable.
2. School preliminary review
The school will conduct a preliminary review for candidates who submit complete and valid registration information as required. The preliminary review results are divided into two categories: qualified and unqualified. The results of the preliminary review will be announced in the registration system at the end of June 2020.
3. Volunteer application
Candidates take the college entrance examination. Candidates who pass the preliminary examination and whose college entrance examination scores reach the special admission control score can fill in the comprehensive evaluation batch volunteer information. The filling requirements shall be subject to the announcement of Shanghai Education Examination Authority.
4. School assessment
Shanghai Education Examination Authority will base on the candidates’ college entrance examination scores, comprehensive evaluation batch volunteer application status, and the list of qualified candidates in the preliminary review of colleges and universities, according to the enrollment plan of the college’s professional group The 1:1.5 ratio of the number (all votes for the last one with the same score) determines the shortlist for interview qualifications. Interview qualification information will be announced on the school’s undergraduate admissions website.
The school will organize the assessment of candidates shortlisted for interview. The assessment method is interview, and the specific time and location arrangements will be announced on the school's undergraduate admissions website. For those who do not participate in the school interview assessment, the school assessment score will be counted as zero points in the total score.
IV. Admission Method
The school calculates the comprehensive score based on the proportion of the college entrance examination scores accounting for 85 and the school assessment scores accounting for 15. Comprehensive score = 1000 × (85 × college entrance examination scores ÷ college entrance examination full score 15 × school assessment results ÷ school assessment full marks) are sorted from high to low, and pre-admissions are conducted by professional groups based on the candidates' voluntary application. The principle of score priority is adopted when enrolling majors, and there is no major grade difference. If the comprehensive scores are the same, admission will be based on the college entrance examination scores, the total college entrance examination scores of three subjects in Chinese, mathematics and foreign languages, the total college entrance examination scores of two Chinese and mathematics subjects, and the single subject of Chinese college entrance examination.
The proposed admission list will be reviewed and approved by the school’s admissions leadership group, and will be officially submitted for admission after review by the Shanghai Education Examination Authority. The admission list will be published on the school admissions website, the Shanghai Education Examination Authority website and the Ministry of Education’s Sunshine College Entrance Examination Platform.
5. Notes
1. Candidates are responsible for the authenticity of application materials. Papers and patents are not allowed to be uploaded as application materials. If there is false content in the application materials or concealment of major facts that may have an adverse impact on the candidates, once discovered, the qualifications for subsequent admissions will be cancelled; those who have already enrolled will be dealt with in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education and the school.
2. During the preliminary review and assessment period, the school will obtain the candidates' comprehensive quality documentary report in accordance with the requirements of the "Measures for the Use of Comprehensive Quality Evaluation Information for Ordinary High School Students of East China Normal University" as a reference for the school's assessment.
3. If the results of the college entrance examination physical examination do not meet the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education, the admission qualification will be canceled or adjusted to other suitable majors.
4. Our school’s recruitment information is released through the Ministry of Education’s Sunshine College Entrance Examination Platform or the East China Normal University Undergraduate Admissions Network without further notice. Candidates should pay attention to the website information in a timely manner after registering; the consequences of failing to check the website information in a timely manner shall be borne by the candidates. The college entrance examination application form shall be subject to the regulations of the Shanghai Municipal Admissions Management Department.
5． Our school has not entrusted any individual or intermediary organization to carry out comprehensive evaluation and admission work, and does not hold any form of pre-examination tutoring classes.
6． If the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipality or relevant departments make relevant adjustments, our school will make corresponding adjustments. Matters not covered shall be handled in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipality and our school.
7. The school’s assessment work and epidemic prevention and control requirements may be adjusted accordingly depending on the local epidemic prevention and control situation, and an announcement will be made on the school’s admissions website.
6. Leadership and Supervision Mechanism
1. Comprehensive evaluation of the admission reform pilot admissions work is carried out under the leadership of the school’s admissions leadership group, and major matters are collectively discussed and decided by the admissions leadership group. .
