When does Maoxian Railway run?

The adoption of short-segment wide joints endows the tunnel with the ability to adapt to dislocation and rotation, and at the same time strengthens the structural design and reserves spare space, thus achieving "structural safety, economic application and easy maintenance".

Maoxian Railway was built by China Railway 17th Bureau. According to the relevant person in charge, due to the structural compression at the core of the active fault, the surrounding rock is extremely broken and powdery, and the original ground stress is high. The tunnel is severely deformed by extrusion, the maximum deformation reaches 190cm, and the vault settlement reaches 78 cm, which is rare in railway tunnels under construction in China. During the 74-month construction period, builders have successively overcome technical problems. The large deformation control technology of Maoxian Railway in high ground stress soft rock summarized through repeated tests has been popularized throughout the country, and applied for utility model patents 16, forming 5 provincial and ministerial construction methods, which has accumulated valuable experience for soft rock tunnel construction in southwest China. Chenglan Railway starts from Chengdu, passes Guanghan, Shifang, Mianzhu, Maoxian and Songpan to Jiuzhaigou, and then extends northward. According to the design of passenger and freight lines with a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. After the project is completed, it will end the history that there is no railway in western Sichuan, and together with the railways from baoji-chengdu railway, lanzhou-chongqing railway, sichuan-tibet railway and Chengdu to Xining, it will form a railway trunk channel connecting the coastal areas of northwest, southwest and south China, forming the second land railway channel from Chengdu to Europe and Asia.

Yang Hongbo, Vice Governor of Sichuan Provincial People's Government, and his party, accompanied by Fu Guocheng, General Manager of Cheng Lan Company, leaders of the construction unit and Zhou Yuefeng, Project Manager of Cheng Lan Project Department of China Railway Second Hospital, went to Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway for on-site inspection and guidance.

At Songpan Station, Vice Governor Yang listened to the report on the progress of railway construction and the construction period. Yuelongmen Tunnel (20.042km) and Yuntunbao Tunnel (22.923km) on Cheng-Lan Railway are both control projects, and they are also typical representative tunnels of "four poles, three highs and five complexities" on Cheng-Lan Railway. Under the control of Cheng Lan Company, the tunnel will be fully connected by the end of 20021and is expected to open to traffic in 2023, so as to compete with the planned Qing Chuan.

Vice Governor Yang expressed satisfaction with the construction period and progress of the railway. He stressed that the Sichuan provincial government will continue to support the construction of the Chengdu-Lanzhou Railway, and hopes that all parties involved in the construction will speed up the construction progress on the premise of ensuring safety, strive for early opening to traffic, and promote rapid economic development along the route.
