Development of Institute of Radiation Medicine of Fudan University

Over the past 40 years, especially over the past 20 years of reform and opening up, the Institute has carried out in-depth and comprehensive scientific research on the dose and effect of ionizing radiation, the repair, diagnosis and treatment and prevention of radiation damage, and has achieved a number of influential scientific research results, enjoying a certain reputation and academic status at home and abroad. 1978-2000, he undertook more than 70 national scientific research projects/kloc-0, and won 53 scientific research achievement awards. In recent years, he has obtained 2 invention patents, published more than 700 papers, participated in 66 international conferences and exchanges, participated in the compilation of 32 monographs and held 20 seminars.

The Institute of Radiation Medicine of Fudan University has certain academic advantages and research characteristics in the research of radiation damage effect and protection, the development of radioactive fission products to promote drugs and radiation sensitizers, the biological and physical dose assessment technology of nuclear accidents, the aging mechanism of irradiated bone cells, and the basis of cytokine radiation damage.

The existing specialties of the institute are: radiation medicine, radiopharmaceutical sensitizer, radiation protection and basic research of geriatrics.

After the system reform, there are 65 scientific and technological managers in the institute, including senior title 10, intermediate title 33 and junior title 20. The institute has five research rooms, 1 library and information room, 1 clinical department. 1986 our college set up a master's degree program, 1993 set up a doctoral degree program. At present, there are 3 doctoral supervisors and 2 master supervisors. Up to now, 29 graduate students and 29 doctoral students have been trained 10.

Our institute has conducted extensive academic exchanges with experts from the United States, Japan, France and other countries, received 58 batches of scholars from various countries, and sent more than 40 scientific and technological personnel abroad for further study or investigation. It has also established scientific research cooperation relations with universities or scientific research institutions in the United States, Britain and Japan, and established six international cooperation projects.
