China municipal engineering Northwest Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. is a cross-regional and cross-industry large-scale design unit, with engineering design qualifications such as municipal public utilities, construction engineering, water conservancy (urban flood control), landscape architecture, highway engineering and pressure pipeline design permission, and urban planning service qualification, engineering consulting qualification, comprehensive engineering survey qualification and engineering supervision qualification of foreign-invested enterprises. The business scope involves design, planning, consultation, supervision, survey and general contracting, and can undertake engineering design and planning of water supply, drainage, town gas, heat, roads, bridges, tunnels, manned ropeways, rail transit, public transportation, environmental sanitation, landscaping, high and medium pressure pipelines, industrial and civil buildings, flood control, highways and urban planning. Can undertake technical services such as engineering consultation, project management, and general contracting.
The company currently has 1398 employees, including national design master 1 person, national government special allowance 1 person, national young and middle-aged experts1person, 7 young and middle-aged experts from the Ministry of Construction, 2 outstanding experts from Gansu Province, 35 senior engineers at professor level, 200 senior engineers and 233 engineers. It has branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shenzhen, Fujian, Hunan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Shenyang, Chengdu, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shandong, Ningxia and other places to provide quality services for local engineering construction.
In the past 50 years, the company has completed more than 7,000 design, survey, planning and consulting projects. There are 135 projects that have won excellent survey and design awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, among which Qujiang Waterworks of Xi 'an Heihe River Water Diversion Project won the first China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award and the National Excellent Design Silver Award, Tianjin Luanhe River Diversion Project won the National High-quality Project Gold Award and Yantai Synthetic Leather Factory Project won the National High-quality Project Silver Award. Xi 'an Shibei Shiqiao Sewage Treatment Plant won the second prize of excellent survey and design at the ministerial level, and it is a deep purification project of drinking water in Baiyin area. The project of Wensui Pavilion Sikuquanshu Library Building, Dunhuang Art College of Northwest Normal University, Tian Jiabing Education College, Shaw Library Project and infrastructure construction project of Leitai Tourist Area in Wuwei City all won the first prize of excellent survey and design in Gansu Province. Korla urban water supply project was selected as one of the classic projects of China State Construction Engineering Corporation 100.
The company has also undertaken large-scale urban bridges and road projects such as Fuzhou Luozhou Bridge, Zhejiang Linhai Bridge, Simon Road Viaduct in Shanghai Central, Hohhot Ring Road, Xiaoxiang South Road in Changsha and Panyu Section of Guangzhou North Second Ring Road, as well as large-scale urban planning and comprehensive municipal projects such as Korla, Yangling District and Ordos Equipment Manufacturing Base in Xinjiang. In 2008, the newly established rail transit branch of the company relied on the strong technical advantages of AECOM, a joint venture shareholder, to undertake the planning and compilation of Lanzhou rail transit network and the design consultation of Fuzhou subway project, which laid a good foundation for the company to explore new fields.
During the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the company undertook a number of national key scientific and technological projects. More than 60 research achievements have won invention awards and scientific and technological progress awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, among which "Water Plant Research" won the second prize of national scientific and technological invention, "Method and device for forcibly discharging and regenerating waste activated carbon" won the third prize of national invention, "Anaerobic-integrated oxidation ditch technology for treating municipal sewage at room temperature" and "Efficient turbidity removal and safe chlorination and disinfection technology for drinking water" won the third prize of national scientific and technological progress. Six research and development achievements have obtained national patents. The monograph "High Turbidity Water Supply Project" won the second prize of national excellent books. I also participated in writing some engineering design manuals and specifications.
At the end of 1980s, the company began to enter the field of general contracting business and completed more than 20 general contracting projects. As one of the earliest and most successful entities in China's municipal design industry, it has undertaken projects in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Angola, Algeria and other countries. In 2000, the company passed ISO900 1 quality system certification, and obtained China (CNACR) certificate and UK (UKAS) certificate.
