How to distinguish the authenticity of zippo lighters

The average price of real zippo bought in real stores is around 200-400, and there are thousands of them.

True and false judgment

The false hinge is not fused well (in other words, it is shoddy). And the real ZIPPO, a concave shape, has the following characteristics: 1. There is a year of production at the bottom of the shell. Month A stands for January, B stands for February, and so on. 2. The side of the shell is divided into five channels. 3. There is a circular gravure at the top and bottom of the seam. 4. The cotton at the bottom of the shell is very thick ~ about 0.7 cm ~ 5. The pattern on the flint is diamond ~ 6. In addition, the circular marks of the two pressing blades on the casing are really difficult to be completely consistent on the copier, which can also be used as a basis for judgment. In the same way, the work of flint wheel is also rewarding. It is suggested not to focus on the identification of cotton cores. The imitation cotton cores bought on the market now are actually of good quality.

At present, there are many fake Zippo lighters on the market, and there are many ways to distinguish them.

First look at the appearance. There are circular intaglios on the joints of real Zippo lighters. It is really difficult for the two circular marks of the pressing blade on the casing to be exactly the same on the copying machine, which can also be used as a basis for judgment.

The real Zippo has a year's manufacturing time at the bottom.

1932- 1956 is written in block letters; 1957- 1976 is written in italics; Since 1977, the trademark modeling of flame pattern has been used. In addition, starting from 1957, the base of ZIPPO lighters is engraved with a mark representing the year of manufacture, which is convenient for collectors to identify. Before that, products could only be judged by S number or design type.

There are four marks representing the year of manufacture, namely [] (from 1957), [|] (from 1966- 1973) and [/] (from1974-1983). Each sign is used for 8 years. There are at most eight of these marks, which are engraved on the left and right sides of the ZIPPO trademark (that is, each mark has at most four marks). However, with the method of decreasing year by year, at least 1 remains.

Since 1986, in addition to the year, the month mark has been added. On the right side of the trademark, Roman numerals indicate the year of manufacture (II stands for 86 years, III stands for 87 years, and IV stands for 88 years); The English letters on the left represent the manufacturing month (A stands for 1 month, B stands for February, and C stands for March). Among the above features, fake Zippo lighters are generally absent or incomplete, and the printing is also very rough. Performance, quality and appearance are not comparable to real Zippo.

In addition, we can also compare the actual use of true and false Zippo.

First: look at flame and heat resistance.

When the Zippo imitation was burning, smoke came out and flames swayed, and the whole fuselage caught fire in less than 4 minutes. A real Zippo lighter won't ignite the fuselage until the fuel runs out. This is because the cover just made by fake Zippo is too thick and the heat dissipation effect is poor; The oil storage cotton core in the machine is of poor quality and easy to leak oil.

Second: windproof ability

Put the true and false Zippo at a distance of 40 cm from the electric fan, and turn the electric fan to the maximum wind power, but it still can't blow out the flame of the true Zippo lighter. The fake Zippo lighter was blown out when the electric fan only turned on the minimum wind. This is because the real Zippo lighter has a high windproof wall; The exhaust hole design is scientific and reasonable; The special wick has good oil absorption performance.

At present, there are many fake Zippo lighters on the market, and there are many ways to distinguish them.

First look at the appearance. There is an approximately circular concave print on the top and bottom of the joint of a real Zippo lighter. It is really difficult to make two marks on the pressing blade on the casing on the copying machine, or there are marks but the marks are round, which can also be used as the basis for judgment.

Identification of true and false zippo

For novices, it's really difficult to identify the true and false zippo machines, because now the fake zippo machines are divided into three or six grades. Those cottage machines with relatively good workmanship can often confuse the kind eyes of newcomers, who are mostly exposed to machines produced after 2002. Therefore, this post mainly takes the conventional zippo machine produced after 2002 as an example to introduce to friends how to distinguish between true and false.

1. packaging: the real machine (the product imported to Chinese mainland through Hong Kong Biji Company) is beautifully packaged. There are four kinds of packaging, one of which is the cheapest ABS plastic box (a new plastic box packaging is introduced, which looks beautiful, but it seems less convenient than before, and sometimes it can't be opened for half a day, which is very annoying).

The second is a paper box with a black top cover and a light yellow bottom cover.

The third is an iron box,

The fourth is a blue velvet box,

I won't introduce other special packing boxes one by one. Here, I want to make it clear that the parallel planes you usually buy online or offline are actually the same as the genuine ones. Both parallel imports and genuine licensed products are real machines, all made in the United States.

2. Appearance: The real machine has a beautiful appearance and the surface is generally flawless. Rivets at the cam of ignition wheel and liner are white.

The flint clip under the lighter is yellow.

The inner diameter of the top of the flint tube at the lower end of the flint wheel is equivalent to the diameter of the genuine zippo flint, so after the genuine flint is straightened, you will find that the flint will not move badly left and right in the flint tube, and the radian of the genuine shell cover is also relatively small;

The inner container of the cottage is generally made in China. Generally, the rivets at the ignition wheel and cam are yellow. Of course, white ones seem to be rare. The rivets on the cam above the ignition wheel and bushing of Wei Ming Port and the new double guns are white. It should be noted that the flint seat under the ignition wheel of the fake machine is mostly white. The second-generation new cotton oil lighter newly introduced by a domestic cotton oil lighter also turned yellow like zippo, and the inner diameter of the top of the flint tube at the lower end of the flint wheel was relatively large, which was quite different from the genuine zippo flint. Therefore, after the real flint is put in, you will find that the flint is winding around in the flint tube, and the arc of the cover of the fake zippo shell is larger than the real one. The hinge of the real machine is two wide and three narrow, and the conventional hinge has five sections, the first, third and fifth sections are narrower, and the second and fourth sections are wider.

3, feel: really Zippo feels light, because Zippo is a special material, other imitations can't do it; The real zippo will have a solid feeling in your hand.

4. Sound: Genuine Zippo will have a very crisp sound when it bounces off the lid (except for individual products). Fake machine, the sound of opening the lid is ok, and the sound of closing the lid is dumb, because fake zippo mostly uses domestic liner, and the small spring piece at the lower end of the cam of the liner of domestic cotton oil lighter is very thin, so the sound will be lower. Sometimes fake zippo will find that it feels poor when opening and closing, and it has a sticky feeling, and the opening and closing is not very smooth.

5, strike a fire: the real Zippo will feel astringent when striking a fire for the first time without oil, because flint is a new reason, and flint friction is not a small spark, but a cluster of fires, which is one of the reasons why Zippo became an instant hit. After refueling, the fire is basically a hit, and the flame is very stable. There are two stripes on the flint cutting side of a real zippo lighter. The stripes on the upper layer are diagonal lines from the upper right to the lower left, and the stripes on the lower layer are diagonal lines from the upper left to the lower right. When the two lines intersect, a small diamond block is formed in front of the lighter.

On the right side of the lighter wheel, there are fine stripes radiating from the center to the periphery and evenly spaced. There are two kinds of stripes, one is a single radial stripe.

The other is two side-by-side radiation, and there are two kinds of two side-by-side radiation. One is that the two lines are very close, and sometimes you will think it is a thin one without careful observation.

The other is that the two lines are separated by a certain distance, not too far.

(This is the lighter wheel of zippo at this stage. It used to have straight lines and twill, so I won't discuss it here. ) Generally, fake machines also have such small threads, but these small threads are very irregular and have different thicknesses, and there are no real machine rules.

6.Logo: The real Zippo shell and the bottom of the inner container have product logo. The logo at the bottom of the shell introduces the production time and other information of the product. True zippo means that English came from a-l that month, and more than 100% was false. The bottom of the real zippo is clearly marked with the word zippo. The letter "I" is not a dot but a very fine traditional flame pattern of zippo. The flame outline is clear, but most fake machines are very fuzzy. Bradford pa at the bottom of the real machine. Not Bradford. It is very important that there is a clear comma between Badford and pa, not a dot. Moreover, the four corners at the bottom of zippo are not right angles but have a certain radian, and fake machines are generally right angles.

7. Cotton pad: The cotton pad of real Zippo is very thick, generally up to 0.7cm thick, with English fonts printed on both sides.

You can see it when you lift the cotton pad and refuel. General imitation is impossible (however, a domestic enterprise that produces cotton oil lighters has also introduced a new oil machine with a thicker cotton pad, which is a little worse than zippo's, so you should pay attention when buying it). Imitation or fake cotton pad is very thin, and the texture of cotton pad is loose and not as dense as the real machine. The real cotton pad has a small hole of 1mm, and a friend said it was oiled from there, but it was actually reserved.

8. Inner container: zippo's product information is clearly engraved on both sides of the inner container of the real machine. Sometimes many friends say that the time when they buy the liner and the bottom of the shell is different. Is it true?/You don't say. This is normal, because the inner container and outer shell of zippo are not produced together, and in most cases, it will only deteriorate within a month.

The inner container of the real machine is very clean and smooth, which can be seen in the mirror. The cotton balls inside are five or six small pieces, not a whole imitation. The real machine is on the left and right sides of the flint pipe with a small gap of about 2.5mm, but the fake machine is not.

Of course, there are also Wei Ming oil engines made in Hong Kong in these two locations, but they are not obvious, and you can't see them without careful observation. The metal parts under the wheel of the real lighter are not tightly combined with the inner container, which seems to have a distance of about 1mm, and the middle seems to be sealed with a material, while the fake lighters are mostly closely combined.

At the same time, the outer edge of the inner container at the lower part of the lighter wheel has a certain radian, which is not straight up and down.

Careful friends will also find the problem of the tank bottom, that is, the tank bottom is uneven, and there are almost a few millimeters of concave places in the tank bottom directly below the cam position. As shown in the figure:

The bottom of the flint screw is higher than the bottom of the inner container, and the height is the same as the thickness of the nut.

9. Cam: The cam of the real machine is thick and dull, with a blackening feeling, while the cam of the fake machine is mostly bright and fresh. At present, there seem to be two kinds of cams for real machines, one is relatively complete,

The other is that the lower end of the big head seems to have been pinched by something. According to foreign websites, it seems to have changed since 2004.

Most fake machines are complete.

10, fire core: the fire core of genuine zippo is very resistant to burning and generally does not turn black. After lighting the fire and closing the lid, smoking is rarely found, and the fire core of the fake machine is easy to burn black, and it is easy to emit black smoke when burning. Probably not the same as genuine cotton.
