How long does it take to apply for a design patent in the United States?

The time to apply for a foreign patent in the United States: generally, it takes about 12 to 18 months.

The applicant submits the application documents to the German Patent Office. After accepting the application, the Patent Office will first conduct a formal review to confirm that the application documents are complete and qualified, and will give the application number and application date. Generally, it can be completed within 2 months, and the applicant needs to get an official receipt.

2. Search If the applicant needs it, he can file an independent search request with the German Patent Office.
