Chopard’s craftsmanship

After the European Renaissance, there are countless brilliant cultural and artistic masterpieces in the world. Watchmaking craftsmanship continues to pursue perfection and purity. In 1860 AD, Louis-Julius Chopard, a talented man with excellent craftsmanship, founded his workshop in Sonvilier, a small village in the Jura region of Switzerland famous for its watch manufacturing, and began to produce precision timepieces. Because the family has long been famous for manufacturing watches, coupled with Chopard's own ingenuity, the company quickly established a reputation. Among them, it was most famous for manufacturing highly accurate pocket timers. At that time, the Swiss railway company came here because of its reputation. , inviting Chopard to serve as a supplier. Since then, the company's train delays have been greatly reduced, allowing the world to see Chopard's precise watchmaking technology. After establishing its reputation as an export company, Chopard decided to start designing gem-set watches in 1920, and moved its factory from Sanvilliers to Geneva, the capital of the watch industry, and began producing gemstone watches ever since.

Despite Louis-Julius Chopard’s brilliant achievements in watchmaking, his descendants did not want to share his love of timepieces. In the 1960s, Paul-André Chopard, the last watchmaker to bear the Chopard name, had to face the reality that none of his sons wanted to carry on his legacy. At the same time, Germany's Scheufele family, as a manufacturer of jewelry and watches, is also actively looking for a breakthrough in its business. As a result, Chopard, which had lasted for a hundred years, was acquired by Karl Scheufele in 1963, allowing the brand to survive to this day.

Today, Chopard still exists as a family business. Chopard is managed by President Karl Scheufele and his wife Karin, and their children Karl Friedrich and Caroline are the two vice presidents of the company. The Scheufele family's outstanding creativity in product design and its consistent extraordinary achievements in the field of jewelry have allowed the connotation and characteristics of Chopard watches to be well continued, constantly glowing with new brilliance and vitality. Chopard has opened subsidiaries in more than a dozen countries, and watch stores are located all over the world. From the passionate Caribbean sun beaches, to Japanese hot springs with dancing cherry blossoms, to the Champs Elysées in France, and even at the foot of the pyramids in Egypt, you will find the luxurious and fashionable figure of Chopard watches. Chopard has many brands, among which the most classic ones are the L.U.C series and Happy Diamonds series. In addition to their equally impressive fame and popularity, their special relationship with Chopard has also established their status as the flagship watch.

In 2010, Chopard launched a men's watch series named L.U.C - in honor of the company's founder, Louis Ulysse Chopard. The original idea of ??this watch is also related to Mr. Chopard’s idea at the beginning of his business. The L.U.C series of watches uses traditional production methods to achieve the effect of returning to nature. More importantly, the development of this series of watches has achieved a milestone for Chopard's watch production technology.

Company president Carl Friedrich Scheffler recalled, "We did make a lot of parts, but they were not watch parts. This was the missing part of our concept." Production. Only with your own movement can you create your own brand, and only if all parts come from your own factory can you become a coveted manufacturing brand. This is not an easy thing. In 1996, the company established a high-tech manufacturing center in Froillier, a town with a tradition of watchmaking. After three years of hard work and continuous experiments and testing, a new movement completely designed and produced by Chopard was born in 1996.

The watch has a Breguet balance spring and a 22-karat gold micro-rotation core. It has passed extremely strict tests.

Only after passing this inspection can the words "Geneva Designated Watch" authorized by the Geneva Watch Manufacturing Bureau be printed on the watch. In 1997, the "L.U.C 1860" men's watch was recommended by professional journalists and watch retailers and elected as the best watch of the year.

In March 2000, Chopard launched the "L.U.C Quattro" using the 1.98 movement. This movement is absolutely innovative in the market because it uses four chambers (2 × 2 stacked), allowing the watch to achieve a 9-day power reserve. Two patented inventions have been registered, plus the Geneva Seal, ensuring the quality of this watch that cannot be copied. The design of the movement allows the watch to run more accurately, and it has also won a certificate from the Swiss Official Precision Time Testing Institute (COSC).

The L.U.C Tonneau back series is the only automatic movement watch in the world with a micro-gear. Its case is curved, the hour hand is gold-plated, and the silver dial follows L.U.C’s consistent style. The development and production of this unique watch represents the enterprising challenge of Chopard's craftsmen. The same effort has been made in combining sporting and technical qualities. In the invention of this special automatic movement, Chopard greatly retained its original traditional style. Carl Friedrich Schauerfelder commented, “Becoming a true ‘maker’ of watches has allowed our company to reposition itself in the men’s watch market and in the field of high-end watch manufacturing.”
