Behind-the-scenes production

"If You Are the One" was inspired by the film "Marriage Notice" by Taiwanese director Chen Guofu. The original intention of creating the script of "If You Are the One" was to bring an inspirational and affectionate comedy story to the audience during the 2008 New Year.

Initially Feng Xiaogang wanted to use a marriage proposal story to develop the plot, but when Shu Qi joined, it turned into a love story. In the end, the main plot was centered on the love relationship between Ge You and Shu Qi, so the finished thing was very different from the idea in my mind when I wrote the script.

The inventor of different terminals is the well-known Hong Kong director Pang Haoxiang. In his movie "AV", Pang Haoxiang asked four graduates to use the invention of different terminals to obtain venture capital. A few years later, Feng Xiaogang used this invention to make Ge You a fortune in this film. Feng Xiaogang thanked Peng Haoxiang at the end of the film.
