Who is Wang Hai from Shangqiu?

Wang Hai, also known as Zhen, is the sixth grandson of the eldest son Kui Bo (Qi) in Ming Dynasty. He succeeded to the throne as the leader of Shang clan and one of the ancestors of Yin people. Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Wangjiagu is called "Gao Zu Hai" or "Gao Wang Zuhai". Wang Hai is a very accomplished person. He not only helped his father make great contributions to water control, but also invented the ox cart and began to train cows to serve people. The record of "stand firm and benefit cattle and horses for the people" in Guanzi Light and Heavy E refers to the story that Xiangtu invented the carriage and Wang Hai invented the ox cart and tamed it for people to serve. The development of agriculture and animal husbandry, the ancestors of merchants, made the Shang tribes rapidly powerful, and they produced surplus things. So Wang Hai and people from the same tribe used ox carts to pull goods and drive cattle and sheep to other tribes to trade. People from other tribes called them "businessmen" and the word "businessmen" originated from this and has been passed down to this day. As a result, Wang Hai became the ancestor of the "businessman" who did business and was regarded as a god by businessmen for thousands of years. Wang Hai's last business trip was to Friendship north of the Yellow River. According to the chronicles of bamboo books, the emperor vented "twelve years, the son of Yin Hou, who was easy to meet, easy to kill, and released from the sea." In the twelfth year of Xie, that is, BC 18 10, Wang Hai and his younger brother set out from Shangqiu, carrying goods and herding cattle and sheep, and made a long journey to Hebei Friendship (now Yishui, Hebei). Mianchen, the leader of the Yi tribe, killed Wang Hai, drove away Wang Hai's followers and took the goods, cattle and sheep. Wang Heng, Wang Hai's younger brother, fled all the way to Shangqiu. Shang Jiawei, Wang Hai's son, was very angry and wanted to avenge Wang Hai. However, for many reasons, it was impossible to send troops immediately. Four years later, in the 16th year of Boss Shady, BC 1806, with the help of teacher Hebo, he killed You Yi and Mianchen to avenge his father Wang Hai. Mr. Guo Moruo, a famous historian, wrote in the Historical Draft of China: "According to legend, riding a horse and Wang Hai taking a cow, that is, domesticating cattle and horses as a means of transportation. It is also recorded that the ancestors of the Shang Dynasty set up soap prisons, served cattle and horses, and benefited the people. Soap' is a trough for feeding cattle and horses, and' prison' is a circle for raising cattle and sheep, which shows that they have transitioned to a settled and grazing life very early, and they believe that they have patents. In this way, the development of agricultural production has been formed, and an economy combining agriculture and animal husbandry has been formed, which has enabled this tribe to prosper rapidly. " "The development of agriculture has promoted the division of labor between agriculture and animal husbandry, and the division of labor between agriculture and handicrafts has also expanded accordingly. Therefore, the communication between businessmen and other tribes is also more active. When Wang Hai, the son of the ghost, began to use cattle as a tool to carry goods and trade between tribes. Yi took Wang Hai's cow and killed Wang Hai, and the two sides clashed. With the help of Hebo's army, Wang Haizi's Shang Jiawei defeated You Yi, killed the national army minister of You Yi, and further expanded his power. Wang Hai was called Gao Zu Hai in Oracle Bone Inscriptions, and Shang Jiawei was also ceremoniously sacrificed. "1980 1, Zhou Fei, the author of Historical Stories of Shang Dynasty published by Hebei People's Publishing House, vividly wrote the story of the business fighting between the Ghost King and Wang Hai, and repeatedly mentioned that the story happened in Shangqiu, Henan. To sum up, the author thinks that the first "merchant" who bartered and traded in China history originated in Shangqiu, and his ancestor was Wang Hai, the grandson of Kui Bo VI. It is no wonder that today's businessmen at home and abroad have traveled across the ocean or traveled thousands of miles to Shangqiu to worship Wang Hai, the ancestor of Shang Dynasty, in order to bless their successful careers and rich resources.
