Introduction to Wenshan College

In October 1955, with the approval of the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, it was founded on the basis of the National Southwest Normal School Yunnan Wenshan Normal School was established.

In the autumn of 1958, Wenshan Renmin University was opened within Wenshan Normal School, enrolling one class each for the Teachers College and the Medical College, but it was later closed for some reason.

In 1977, with the approval of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, a teacher's college class was established at Wenshan Normal School. In 1984, with the approval of the Yunnan Provincial People's Government, Wenshan Normal College was established.
