The college has gradually formed its own characteristics in water pollution control and sewage recycling, solid waste treatment and comprehensive utilization, environmental ecological engineering, air pollution control, energy-saving technology of building and train air conditioning, low-grade energy utilization, ventilation and dust removal and air purification. After nearly ten years of exploration, the college has made remarkable achievements in teaching, scientific research and personnel training, and achieved many landmark achievements, further enhancing the comprehensive strength of the discipline and significantly improving its competitiveness both inside and outside the province.

In recent years, 14 research results have won 20 awards (times). "Inverted A/A/O biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal technology" is a characteristic technology of sewage nitrogen and phosphorus removal with independent intellectual property rights. In 2004, it was recognized as an international leader, awarded the first prize of scientific and technological progress in Shandong Province, and is expected to win a national prize. Obtained the National Natural Science Foundation and 265,438+0 national patents, including 65,438+00 utility model patents applied in 2005. Since the Tenth Five-Year Plan, scientific and technological achievements have been popularized 10, creating economic benefits for the society of about10.50 billion yuan. New products 15 were developed and results 12 were transformed, resulting in a total economic benefit of 97.05 million yuan, which made due contributions to "rejuvenating Shandong through science and education". Nearly 1 000 papers have been published, including more than 600 papers from international conferences and core journals, and more than 40 papers have been searched by retrieval institutions such as SCI, EI, ISTP and CA.
