In 1903, Sheng Xuanhuai's part of the government money was transferred to Dasheng Cotton Mill at a discount of 250,000 taels. Together with the newly added 300,000 taels of business shares, the total capital increased by 550,000 taels this year. The factory has 40,800 spindles, accounting for 11.9% of the total number of spindles in the country.

In 1904 (the 30th year of Guangxu), after the Russo-Japanese War broke out, Japan’s dumping of foreign cloth in the Northeast dropped sharply, and Nantong Guanzhuang homespun cloth was able to sell well in the Northeast, with a total sales volume of 150,000 pieces a year (each piece More than 40 pieces), and at that time the cotton yarn output of Dasheng Cotton Mill was only half of the yarn consumption of Guanzhuang Dabu, which provided favorable conditions for the development of Dasheng Cotton Mill. In 1905, he made a huge profit and increased his share capital by 670,000 taels. In 1907, the Dasheng branch was built in Chongming, with a capital of more than 800,000 taels and 26,000 spindles. On July 23 of that year, the first shareholders' meeting was held, and "Dasheng Textile Co., Ltd." was established to unify the main factory and branch factories. It was registered with the Ministry of Commerce and obtained the "no other company within a hundred miles for twenty years" The patent right to establish a textile mill established a system of local economic monopoly in Dasheng.

Recovery from the war
