Why didn't nucleic acid detection win the Nobel Prize in chemistry?

Chemist Muhlis won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for nucleic acid detection. 1985, Muhlis, who works for Cetus Company in the United States, invented the polymerase chain reaction gene amplification technology (PCR), which is a genius design method. Cetus applied for a patent for the corresponding technology, and the United States patent number is US4683202. Subsequently, Cetus applied for a series of patents and invented a PCR thermal cycler for nucleic acid detection.

Muhlis also won the 1993 Nobel Prize in chemistry for inventing PCR technology.
