BAIC Group Southwest Base (BAIC Yinxiang) was founded in August 2010. It is a joint venture between BAIC Motor Group, one of the five largest automobile groups in China, and Chongqing Yinxiang Industrial Group, one of the top 50 industrial enterprises in Chongqing. An automobile manufacturer, as a holding subsidiary of BAIC Group, it is striving to build BAIC Group’s southwest base and external export platform in Hechuan District, Chongqing City. The company is located in BAIC Yinxiang Automobile Industrial Park, Tuchang Town, Hechuan District, Chongqing City, covering an area of ??more than 2,000 acres. It is 22 kilometers away from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, 16 kilometers away from Liangjiang New Area, and 3 kilometers away from the planned Chongqing Third Ring Road and Guangzhou-Chongqing Expressway. It has obvious location advantages. The initial investment of the project is 2.6 billion yuan to build a production base with an annual output of 300,000 vehicles. It is designed and planned according to five major processes, and has stamping, welding, painting, final assembly and engine production lines with independent intellectual property rights, forming a complete and independent automobile manufacturing The system, process and tooling level have reached the international advanced level and the domestic first-class level. After one year and nine months of hard work on the project, the first vehicle rolled off the production line smoothly in 2012. In September of the same year, BAIC Yinxiang officially obtained the vehicle production qualification in the 240th batch of automotive product announcements issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. BAIC Yinxiang's product development relies on BAIC Group's acquisition of Swedish Saab's patented technology platform, as well as BAIC Group's mature technology and manufacturing system for new energy products in the three major assemblies of batteries, motors and vehicle control systems. The product series includes vans, SUVs , MPV, pickup truck and other passenger cars, commercial vehicles and their derived new energy models.
