Sinopec Dalian Institute is a central enterprise. Dalian Petrochemical Research Institute was officially put into use in September 217. Its predecessor was Fushun Petrochemical Research Institute, which was established in 1953. It is the earliest scientific research unit engaged in petroleum refining research in China. There are 736 employees in Dalian Institute, including 316 people with senior or above titles, including 1 academician of China Academy of Engineering, 1 national 1 million talents project, 8 experts enjoying special government allowance from the State Council, 4 senior experts from China Petrochemical Company and 13 outstanding experts from China Petrochemical Company. It has 15 R&D departments, 26 national and provincial-level affiliated institutions such as the National Engineering Research Center for Harmless and Reutilized Industrial Wastewater and the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control Technology in Petrochemical Industry, and has won 24 national scientific and technological progress awards and invention awards, 466 provincial-level scientific research achievement awards, applied for 1,22 patents at home and abroad, and owned 499 proprietary technologies of China Petrochemical. The scientific research results have been applied to more than 86 sets of production devices in many countries and regions such as Russia, Japan, South Korea, Central Asia and other "Belt and Road" and 3 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country. It is a leading domestic and internationally renowned supplier of high-quality refining technology.
