The main varieties of wire rope should be selected according to the actual working conditions:
1. Phosphating coated steel wire rope (China invention patent), after manganese or zinc-manganese phosphating treatment, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the steel wire surface are improved in an all-round way, and oil permeates into the pores of the phosphating film to play an extremely excellent antifriction role, effectively inhibiting fretting wear. It is an upgraded product of smooth steel wire rope, and its service life in atmospheric environment is far longer than that of smooth steel wire rope with the same structure, including imported steel wire rope (at present, the fatigue life of phosphating steel wire rope is about 2-3 times that of smooth steel wire rope, and the phosphating film is 3-60g/m2. The steel wire is directly twisted without drawing after phosphating. Note: Zinc phosphating for wire drawing should not be confused with manganese phosphating for rope steel wire). This technology is suitable for producing all kinds of wire ropes, such as elevator wire ropes, important wire ropes, mine wire ropes, anti-rotation wire ropes, wire ropes for oil production, wire ropes for pile drivers, etc. (Baidu Library has phosphate coated steel wire rope for free download).
2. Galvanized steel wire rope, including hot dip galvanizing and electro-galvanizing. The thicker the zinc layer of direct hot-dip galvanized steel wire, the thicker the zinc layer, the stronger the corrosion resistance, and the longer the service time, the thinner the zinc electroplating. Hot dip galvanized steel wire rope should be used in water. Because phosphating film has certain corrosion resistance, manganese phosphating film steel wire rope can be used instead of some kinds of thin galvanized steel wire rope, such as high temperature environment with atmospheric environment but humid air.
3. Stainless steel wire rope, steel wire rope twisted with stainless steel wire, such as 304 or 3 16 stainless steel, has higher corrosion resistance and is more expensive than hot-dip galvanized carbon steel wire rope. Manganese phosphating coating treatment of stainless steel wire (phosphating of stainless steel wire requires special phosphating formula) can also greatly prolong its service life.
4. Plastic coated steel wire rope: on the basis of carbon or galvanized steel wire rope, polyethylene and polypropylene are coated on the outer layer of steel wire rope or strand rope.
5. Smooth steel wire rope produced in UK 1834 and China Tianjin No.1 Steel Wire Rope Factory1939 (bankrupt in 2005) will be completely eliminated with a large number of phosphating coated steel wire ropes entering the market.
