Qualcomm has introduced high-end processors in notebook computers with continuous networking, expanding the demand scale and continuously improving software compatibility.

In cooperation with Qualm, Microsoft will continue to improve the compatibility of 64-bit architecture software in the future. On the other hand, it also emphasizes that many Microsoft services, such as Office, are also highly compatible with WindowsonSnapdragon products. At the same time, it also shows that third-party software vendors, including Adobe, have indicated that they will join Windows notebooks built with Qualm processors.

MiguelNunes, senior director of Qualm's product management department, said in an interview that since only two notebook processors, namely Snapdragon7c and Snapdragon8c, were announced for different specifications and price points, and an enterprise overclocking design was launched for Snapdragon8cx announced last year, this product strategy was mainly aimed at expanding more market demand. By adding more product lines, it is hoped that OEMs can use them, thus expanding the market scale of constant-time networked notebooks based on WindowsonSnapdragon.

As mentioned earlier, the two processors, Snapdragon7c and Snapdragon8c, were indeed added for different market demands. The former is mainly adjusted based on Snapdragon 730, which only locks in the always-on networking application of 4GLTE, while the latter is equivalent to the simplified version of Snapdragon 8cx processor core. Although 4GLTE networking design is also configured by default, it can be additionally matched with Snapdragon X555G networking data chip, so that the notebook computer has faster connection speed performance.

According to MiguelNunes, the Snapdragon7c processor will be used for constant-time networked notebooks in the price range of 300-400 dollars, while the Snapdragon8c processor will be used for constant-time networked notebook design in the price range of 500 dollars.

We are not in a hurry to introduce higher-end processors, and will continue to cooperate with Microsoft to expand market demand in the future. For this time, we didn't specifically announce a new high-end processor, but only provided an overclocked version of Snapdragon8cxEnterprise for the needs of enterprises. MiguelNunes means that market competitors (referring to Intel) are slow to develop such products, so we are not in a hurry to launch new products first, but choose to extend more product lines horizontally to meet different needs, thus building a larger market scale.

However, according to Intel's previous response, it is believed that Qualm's products have poor performance in software compatibility, and the actual display performance does not meet the real use needs in daily life. At the same time, it also emphasizes that its processor products have good performance in low power consumption, long battery life and even software compatibility. Recently, we have established a cooperative relationship with MediaTek. In the future, we will cooperate with our own patents and technologies to build a constant-time networked notebook with 5G networking specifications.

NicoleDezen, general manager of Microsoft's consumer and equipment sales departments in Britain and Ireland, explained that in cooperation with Qualm, the compatibility of 64-bit architecture software will continue to be improved in the future. On the other hand, it also emphasizes that many Microsoft services, such as Office, are also highly compatible with the operation of WindowsonSnapdragon products. At the same time, it also shows that third-party software vendors, including Adobe, also indicated that they will join Windows notebooks built with Qualm processors.

Even MiguelNunes emphasized that under the condition of providing resources such as SnapdragonAIE artificial intelligence computing engine, more third-party software will be able to use artificial intelligence computing technology to create more application services, and at the same time, it will be able to cooperate with hardware design such as GPS positioning and dynamic sensing components installed on notebook computers that are always connected to the Internet, creating more operating experiences that traditional notebooks cannot achieve.

The custom processor working with Microsoft is just an example, and there may be opportunities to join EliteGaming design in the future. As for the SurfaceProX recently released by Microsoft, the customized processor SQ 1 it uses is actually Snapdragon8cx based on Qualm. MiguelNunes said that this processor is mainly optimized for Microsoft software and services, so that SurfaceProX can have a better experience.

However, MiguelNunes also explained that although we have cooperation with Microsoft on this customized processor, it does not mean that Qualm will open the same customized cooperation to the outside world in the future, so we can only look at it in a specific cooperation mode.

As for the overclocked version of Snapdragon8cxEnterprise, MiguelNunes said that there is no plan to apply the same design to Snapdragon7c or Snapdragon8c processor at present, because it is based on product positioning, and I hope to cut into the enterprise application market with more suitable product design.

But does it mean that the support for EliteGaming design can be increased according to the demand of the consumer market in the future? MiguelNunes obviously made some slips of the tongue in the subsequent explanation, revealing that the plan does exist, but there is no specific preparation for implementation at this stage, and maybe further news will be announced next year.
