Development course of trivalent chromium electroplating
Since my first paper was published in 1854, trivalent chromium electroplating has a history of more than 100 years. Because some technical problems are difficult to break through and progress is slow. In 1970s, with the development of science and technology, the increase of chemical raw materials and the further enhancement of people's awareness of environmental protection, the research of trivalent chromium electroplating was put on the agenda of electroplating workers. 1974 Britain announced the trivalent chromium electroplating process of Alecra-3, and 1975 applied for the trivalent chromium electroplating patent with chromium trichloride as the main salt, namely Alecra-3000. 198 1 year, the trivalent chromium plating process of environmentally friendly sulfate chromium (Envir0-chome) was developed in Britain. In this process, the cathode region and the anode region are separated by a selective ion membrane, which can avoid the harm of hexavalent chromium oxidized on the anode plate to trivalent chromium plating solution: almost at the same time, the US Harsha0 company also developed a trivalent chromium electroplating process.
