What are the types of drug patents?

According to the provisions of the patent law, there are three types of drug patents. Among the drug patents, the latter two patents are low in technical content and few in quantity:

(1) Patent for drug invention, which can be applied for new drugs, new preparation methods of drugs and discovery of new uses of drugs.

(2) Patents for pharmaceutical utility models, changes in dosage forms, shapes and structures, inventions of pharmaceutical equipment, etc. You can apply for a patent for utility model.

(3) Patent of drug design. New designs involving the appearance of drugs and packaging containers can apply for appearance patents.
