The inventor of the car was Carl Benz

Carl Benz

In 1884, Carl Benz (Carl Benz), born in Germany, he never met his father because his father's train driver died in an accident when he was one year old. Benz attended a local technical school after graduating from high school in 1860. At school, he was particularly interested in mechanical principles, especially the study of heat engines and steam engines.

After graduating from technical school, Mercedes-Benz first worked as an apprentice in a machinery factory, then as the director of the Mannheim Construction Company, and soon served in the army. Benz retired in early 1871 and was looking for a job everywhere but found no one. It was not until the next year that he borrowed money from a friend to establish the "Karl Benz Iron Foundry and Machinery Factory".

Due to the long-term economic downturn, Benz's factory was on the verge of bankruptcy in 1877. It owed others 2,000 marks and was unable to repay it, and debt collectors came frequently.

Benz did not give up (otherwise there would be no Mercedes-Benz today). He decided to switch to the engine manufacturing industry with great development potential, and successfully developed a single engine on the evening of December 31, 1879. cylinder two-stroke engine.

His factory was not prosperous as engines were of little use at the time. In 1882, Benz finally obtained the support of a businessman and a bank and jointly established the Mannheim Gas Engine Co., Ltd. A month later, due to conflicts between the businessman and the bank, Mercedes-Benz could not let go and angrily launched the company. Due to the early launch, Mercedes-Benz provided all the machinery and equipment as compensation.

In 1885, Mercedes-Benz finally built the world's first car (single-cylinder water-cooled vertical engine, displacement 985CC, power 0.75 horsepower, top speed 12 miles per hour), and on January 29, 1886 Obtained a car manufacturing patent on the same day (registration number: 37435, the patent is Mercedes-Benz). This day is recognized as the birth date of the world's first car.

In September 1888, Mercedes-Benz cars shocked the world at the Munich Machinery Expo.

In 1893, after several years of hard work, Carl Benz began to produce Victoria brand four-wheeled cars (priced at 4,000 marks), resulting in a backlog of products. Later, he listened to businessmen's opinions and launched a car with a price of only 2,000 marks. As a result, a year later 125 units sold.

Mercedes-Benz has achieved success, continued to grow, and has great wealth. Every year on December 31, at the request of his wife, the first engine is started to recall the difficult history of that year.

In 1929, Carl Benz passed away.
