2 professors (researchers) and 2 associate professors in marine technology and ship engineering research; Won the second prize of National Technological Invention Award 1, and 4 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological awards (inventions) such as Zhejiang Province and Ministry of Education; A number of invention patents were granted. At present, we have established cooperative relations with famous universities and research institutions in the marine field at home and abroad, such as the University of Aberdeen, the University of Hawaii, Sun Yat-sen University in Taiwan, and the Second Institute of Oceanography of the State Oceanic Administration, and exchanged talents and technologies. Members of the Institute have participated in the scientific research activities of Atlantis in the United States and Dayang No.1 in China, and have taken the submersible Alvin in the United States to dive thousands of meters to the seabed for on-the-spot scientific investigation. The Institute of Port Coastal and Offshore Engineering was established in 1998 when the four universities merged, and became the "Estuary and Harbor Research Office" in the early 1980s. The institute has doctoral degrees in port, coastal and offshore engineering, doctoral degrees in marine architecture and environment, and master's degrees in hydraulic engineering. The discipline of port, coastal and offshore engineering is a key discipline in Zhejiang Province, and "Ocean Engineering" was included in the second1/project plan during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period.
The college has a united and innovative academic team, with teachers 10, including 2 professors, 4 associate professors and 7 doctors. Su Jilan, academician of China Academy of Sciences, Chen, Liang, Ye Yincan and Professor Shen Huanting, distinguished experts from China Academy of Engineering, are part-time professors. The institute will be built with the scientific research strength of the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Marine Environmental Dynamics of the Second Institute of Oceanography of the State Oceanic Administration as the main body. The main research directions are ocean circulation and short-term climate change, offshore dynamic process and ecological environment, ocean satellite remote sensing technology and application. It is planned to establish a self-established discipline of "Physical Oceanography", and carry out related research with the national demand and scientific frontier as the traction. Strive for more than 15 full-time staff in one year and 25-30 in three years. After five years of construction, the Institute has become an important research institution in the field of physical oceanography.
