A 20-story modern ward building with an area of 32,000 square meters was completed and put into use in 2004. It has advanced equipment such as ICU, CCU ward and advanced ward, blood purification center and laminar flow operating room, and is equipped with first-class facilities such as central oxygen supply and central attraction. It is a modern building with novel decoration, complete functions, clear zoning and reasonable layout, which has made a qualitative leap in the development of Chinese medicine hospitals.
The new outpatient building has a total construction area of about 7300 square meters. Its completion and opening has improved the medical environment, optimized the service process, adjusted the hospital layout, integrated the existing resources, and better met the growing health care needs of the people in the city. The hospital always adheres to the purpose of "developing the hospital through science and education" and attaches great importance to scientific research and teaching. The hospital cooperates with many universities at home and abroad to run schools and undertake scientific research and teaching tasks. In June 2007, the hospital passed the evaluation and officially became Jiangyin Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. At the same time, the hospital is also the graduate training base of Anhui College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yangzhou University Medical College, Vancouver International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Canada, Morimiya Medical College Teaching Hospital in Osaka, Japan, and the teaching base of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It receives more than 200 interns at home and abroad every year.
The hospital pays attention to the guidance of medical research, based on the principles of inheritance, innovation, science and practicality, and aims at clinical efficacy, explores new methods and new ideas to effectively solve common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases, and introduces more than 20 new technologies, methods and projects every year. Fully rely on universities and medical research institutions, focus on traditional Chinese medicine, work hard on characteristics, and strive to turn science and technology into productivity, injecting new vitality into the development of hospitals. Traditional Chinese medicine scientific research is in a leading position, and a number of scientific research have won national patents, provincial and municipal scientific and technological achievement awards and "double innovation and four innovation" awards respectively. He has published nearly 10 academic monographs and nearly 100 academic papers at home and abroad every year. At present, there are four TCM research projects in Jiangsu Province, which are participating in the national "973" key basic research projects. Nearly 60 kinds of professional preparations, such as urea cream, Baoerning oral liquid, Jianwei Xiaoyan granules and Shen Ling Baizhu granules, have a long-standing reputation for their remarkable curative effects.
