Because its pores are smaller than water molecules and larger than gas, it is theoretically waterproof and breathable. Through the mesh lining of the suit, you will see the white colloidal film pressed on the nylon material. Three-layer gore-tex is a kind of double-layer material with a layer of breathable material added inside. Because the three layers of materials are tightly stuck together, the Gore-Tex film inside can't be seen. Its advantage is that the inner layer can better ensure the Gore-Tex film is not worn, but its disadvantage is that it is heavier than the two-layer Gore-Tex and its air permeability is slightly lower. Because most Gore-Tex is laminated on nylon, you feel like a layer. I think Gore-Tex products are waterproof. Generally speaking, Gore-Tex has a good comprehensive effect and is the most commonly used waterproof vent product at present. Of course, Gore-Tex's speculation in recent years is too vague. I hope everyone will not be superstitious. And its windbreaker can't be washed with a washing machine, otherwise its performance will get worse and worse.
Gore-TexPacLite
This is Gore's latest waterproof and breathable material. It is at least 15% lighter than ordinary Gore-Tex, and the compressed packaging volume is also very small. Actually, the jacket made by PacLite is very light. TNF's AmaDablam jacket made of PacLite is only half as heavy as the traditional mountaineering jacket.

Omni-Tech is a patent of Columbia company, which has the same waterproof, windproof and breathable function as Gore-Tex material. The surface of the fabric is coated with DWR (durable waterproof) waterproof coating, which makes the rain impervious. The breathable film is pressed on the bottom of the fabric to help discharge body sweat, and the glue pressing treatment at the wiring makes it have professional functions in harsh environments. Even after 20 washes, it can still maintain 80% waterproof effect.
SympaTex is a patent of VAUDE company, which has the same waterproof, windproof and breathable functions as Gore-Tex material. Often used in jackets and pants designed and manufactured by the company itself.
ExApore is a waterproof, windproof and breathable material developed by JackWolfSkin. There are many kinds of special chemical products now, and there are many similar products in Europe and Asia. Maybe they are not as famous as XXXX Tex, but their actual functions are not much different.
GORE-TEX was discovered by American W.L.GORE Company in the experiment of using PTFE. When it is in the film state, there are as many as 9 billion pores per square inch. These pores are one twentieth the size of water droplets, but 700 times larger than water vapor molecules. In addition, it is soft and tough, so it is a top waterproof and breathable fabric.
This material was nicknamed "the dog is too dead" by the donkey friends.
Wind resistance:
Prior to this, there was no ideal solution to the requirements of waterproof and breathable in textile industry, and the existing materials could only be low waterproof and breathable, or they could not have both. The appearance of GORE-TEX changed all this. Moreover, although GORE-TEX itself is not insulated, it shows excellent heat insulation performance and is very windproof because air molecules are difficult to penetrate.
Waterproof:
The waterproof degree of general waterproof nylon is only 1000-2000mm (water column pressure), which can only withstand general showers; A slightly better 5000mm (water column pressure) can withstand heavy rain; The standard of American military department is only 7000mm (water column pressure), while GORE-TEX is as waterproof as 20000mm (water column pressure)!
Breathability:
The specification of air permeability is g/m2/24hr (the amount of water vapor per unit area in a fixed time). General waterproof and breathable fabrics are only 2000-3000g/m2/24hr, while the permeability of GORE-TEX is as high as 8000- 10000g/m2/24hr!
GORE-TEX has excellent performance and is the standard equipment for most top expeditions in the world. From Everest to the North and South poles to astronauts in space, there is nothing else, because it is impossible to find better materials than GORE-TEX.
Types of GORE-TEX fabrics:
1. Three layers, 3-3 layers: GORE-TEX film is sandwiched between face cloth and lining cloth, which is relatively simple to make, so it is cheaper and more wear-resistant, but it is not as stiff as other comfort products;
2. Double layer and two layers: Gore-tex film is only added to the surface cloth, which is complicated to make when making clothes, so the price is slightly higher, but the clothes are softer, more comfortable and breathable;
3. Lining of the lining: GORE-Tex film is only added to the lining, and the outer layer is a super absorbent breathable cloth that has passed the GORE test. Because the face cloth can be freely selected by the designer, the style can be varied, and the clothing is the softest, more comfortable and more breathable.
Easy to clean:
Rub it gently in warm water with ordinary washing powder, or wash it slowly by machine. A dryer and a low-temperature iron are available.
