China's first car came out in Shenyang in May, 1929, which was manufactured by Liaoning Mortar Factory headed by General Zhang Xueliang. Zhang Xueliang asked Li Yichun, director of Minsheng Factory, to buy a complete car from Xue Rui as a sample car from the United States.

Li Yichun disassembled the whole vehicle, and then redesigned and manufactured other parts except the rear axle of the engine, electrical devices and tires.
