In the solidification process of large section ductile iron, the melt between dendrites is the latest solidification place. Why does spherical graphite with high roundness appear?

Tell me my own understanding.

The first thing to look at is the content of residual magnesium. If it is high, the final solidification place may be a relatively large graphite ball.

If the residual magnesium content is not high, the final graphite morphology will tend to be flaky.

Chilling will affect the shape of graphite balls, so it will be better to slowly cool the shape.
