POE is generally produced by solution polymerization. The polymerization temperature is about 80~ 150℃ and the pressure is 1.0~4.9MPa. The crystalline region of ethylene chain in * * * polymer is used as the physical cross-linking point, which bears external load and makes it thermoplastic at a certain temperature. However, the introduction of octene weakens the crystallization ability of ethylene, reduces the crystallization area relatively, forms a rubber phase with rubber elasticity, and makes POE have the characteristics of rubber elasticity. The synergistic effect of resin phase and rubber phase endows POE thermoplastic elastomer with basic characteristics.
TPE is the abbreviation of thermoplastic elastomer. Generally, elastic products with low elastic modulus can be repeatedly stretched to more than twice the original length at room temperature, and have the ability to almost completely recover to the original length after stress relief. The early material with this characteristic was thermosetting rubber, but many injection-molded thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) series are replacing the traditional rubber. In addition to being used in the basic form, TPE is also widely used to modify rigid thermoplastics, usually to improve impact strength. This is common for plates and general molding-grade composites.
