What are Michelin radial tires like?

Hello!

In 1946, Michelin applied for a patent for radial tires.

A radial tire is composed of two or three layers of steel wire rings placed crosswise and attached to a cord fabric carcass. The carcass cords connect from one bead to the other, much like the radials of the earth, so tires with this structure are called radial tires.

Compared with bias-ply tires, the advantages of radial tires are: long life, large contact area, better grip, fuel consumption saving, stable turning, low puncture rate, and quick steering response of the vehicle. Low operating temperature, comfort, self-cleaning ability (for engineering machinery tires/agricultural machinery tires), etc.

Currently, passenger car tires (cars, SUVs, etc.) are basically radial tires.
