Anhui University of Science and Technology is a high-level characteristic university jointly established by Anhui Province and People's Republic of China (PRC) Emergency Management Department, supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of the country, and implemented by the "Education and Training Plan for Excellent Engineers" of the Ministry of Education. The Huainan campus of the school covers an area of about 3,200 mu, and the Hefei campus covers an area of 340 mu.
Founded in 1945, the school has the same roots as Hefei University of Technology and is the first engineering university in Anhui Province. 1955, the school was upgraded from Huainan Coal Mining Institute to Hefei Mining Institute, 1956 moved to Hefei, 19765438 was renamed Hefei University of Technology, 197 1 moved to Huainan.
