What are the methods of sowing and raising seedlings?

When sowing in the open field, you can sow after preparing the nursery. Sowing methods generally include:

(1) broadcast

Spread the seeds evenly on the bed surface or ridge surface. It is mostly used when the seeds are small or large. In order to make seedlings emerge evenly, a certain amount of fine sand or fine soil can be mixed. Disadvantages are: large amount of seeds; There are many seedlings, poor ventilation and light transmission, and it is easy to grow white; It is inconvenient for intertillage, weeding, topdressing and pest control. Except for tiny seeds, sowing is generally not promoted.

(2) Drilling

Sow seeds evenly in the sowing ditch according to a certain row spacing. It is mostly used for small and medium-sized seeds, especially when there are many varieties and few seeds. The advantages are: the seedlings have a certain row spacing, which is convenient for intertillage, weeding, furrow fertilization, pest control and mechanized operation; The seedlings receive uniform light, good ventilation conditions, strong growth and good quality. This is the most widely used method in production.

(3) customization on demand

Sow in the nursery at a certain spacing. Generally, it is used for varieties with large particle size, strong germination and vigorous seedling growth. Such as walnuts, chestnuts, peaches and apricots.

Matters needing attention: a. Covering soil thickness: generally 2 ~ 3 times the diameter of short axis (flat) of seeds. Soil drying can be deeper and soil wetting can be shallower; B. repression after sowing, especially in arid areas; C. Irrigation before sowing, and avoid irrigation as much as possible after sowing.
