When I was a freshman or sophomore, I had a lot of free time and saw that many classmates were also taking certificate exams, so I gradually learned more about them. However, some useful ones were not taken, and some useless ones were taken, so that when making a resume, I did not want to write them, which was not very helpful in finding a job. Looking back now, apart from some employers looking at CET-4 and CET-6 and award certificates, everything else depends on the situation.
1. English CET-4 and CET-6
This certificate is necessary to take. The graduation requirement of many schools is to pass CET-4. Without this, you cannot graduate. Moreover, during the previous school recruitment, the HR of the employer would ask, it is impossible not to pass Level 4. Level 4 is relatively basic, and it is best to pass Level 6. Some good employers will also ask for scores, but I haven’t passed Level 6, which is 500. Of course, learning English is still very useful, not just for exams.
2. Computer Level Exam
This exam is a bit difficult, but as long as you review it carefully, it is actually relatively basic. Our college does not have a strict requirement for this, but many students are taking the exam. Computer science across the country is divided into levels 1 to 4. Because we major in C language, most students will take the C language test at level 2. Since there is a question bank for practice, I personally think it is not difficult to pass. Our schools in Jiangsu and the Jiangsu computer exam are more difficult than those across the country. I took the Level 2 C language test in Jiangsu and the country at that time, and later passed the Level 3 in Jiangsu, which is softer and harder. The softer grades require more memorization, while the harder grades require a little more understanding. But this exam is of little use and does not mean that you are really capable of engaging in computer work. Thinking about it now, there is no need to take the Level 3 exam, which is a waste of time. However, some public institutions or state-owned enterprises require computer certificates.
3. Electrician's Certificate
I study electrical engineering and automation, so I actually need to take the electrician's certificate, because it may be useful for future work reasons. At that time, the college organized electrician examination training, but because many students were taking the postgraduate entrance examination, the number of applicants was small, so it was left alone and will be prepared again when there is an opportunity.
4. Putonghua test
This actually depends on the situation. Students who are taking the teacher qualification certificate must take this test. If this is not the case, this certificate is really useless. Think about it, no matter how standard your Mandarin is, it means nothing to the employer. What they see is your ability to do things. Of course, I am not talking about the art of speaking here.
5. Teacher Qualification Certificate
In our major, some students also take the teacher qualification certificate exam. This also depends on the situation. If you have no intention of becoming a teacher in the future, there is no need to take the exam. The teacher qualification certificate is still very difficult, because there are a lot of people applying for it every year, but the proportion of people who pass the exam is very low. This is divided into a written test and an interview. There are many subjects in the written test, and the interview is still quite difficult.
6. Second degree certificate
The second degree means that you study normally, pass the exam, and get a double degree when you graduate. This sounds like it’s pretty good, but it’s not. Some of my classmates studied for a second degree and usually took classes on weekends. In fact, they couldn't learn anything in just this small amount of time. Also, there are quite a lot of second academic qualification exams, most of which are based on question banks and have no practical significance. I feel that unless this is a matter of interest, it will be a waste of energy and time, and in the end, the employer will not like it.
7. Competition Award Certificate
Of course there is no need to take this test, but to obtain the results of the competition, you need to put in a lot of effort to learn some professional knowledge and improve your hands-on ability. .
There are many competitions in our major. If you are good at eloquence and copywriting, you can participate in youth creation and Internet competitions. This involves writing a business plan and making PPT for road shows to promote your ideas or products. If you want to learn some professional knowledge, you can participate in some electronic design competitions, NXP smart cars, robot competitions, etc., which can well exercise our hands-on ability. In addition, you can also participate in competitions such as mathematical modeling and English competitions. These can not only add credits, but also help future postgraduate entrance examinations and employment. When I was in college, I had fewer opportunities to participate in competitions, so I didn't win many awards. In college, I only won the school-level award in the Xinjie Cup PLC competition, the second prize in the Jiangsu Provincial Electrical Contest, and the first prize in the provincial high-mathematics competition. Unfortunately, I never won a national award.
8. Patent certificate
There is no need to take this exam. The main purpose is to do projects with teachers, such as applying for some college student innovation training projects, helping the teacher to do something, and then you can There is a patent. Sometimes you don’t even need to write it yourself, the teacher will ask the corresponding person to write it. When I was a junior in college, I signed up for a large-scale innovation project and worked with my teacher to make something. In the end, two patents were obtained. However, fortunately, I did learn something in it, and some students were just there in name.
9. Certificate of Honor in School
This is a daily accumulation. If you study hard and have better academic performance, you can get a scholarship. In college, I won first-class scholarships and third-class scholarships. There are also some honorary certificates, such as three good students, outstanding student leaders, etc. Of course, they are the best if they can be obtained. This employer still cares about them. If you are among the top in your major, you still have the opportunity to get a national scholarship. This certificate is very valuable whether you are looking for a job or taking postgraduate entrance examinations. The certificates awarded by social scholarships are also very good, and the bonuses are more than those awarded by the school. These all mean that you have worked hard in school, and employers will naturally pay more attention to it.
10. Electrical Professional Qualification Certificate
This is our professional qualification certificate. This cannot be taken while in school. It must be taken after working and with XX years of work experience. , if you don’t want to engage in electrical work after graduation, there is no need to consider it. I learned online that this certificate will be very helpful for future career promotions, so this certificate is still very difficult.
11. Relevant electrical internship certificate
Certificates in this area are actually beneficial to us fresh graduates, because we do not have any work experience, so we need relevant internship certificates, of course. Preferably one related to this major. When I was in college, I participated in winter camps organized by the school and interned in a school-enterprise cooperation company, where I learned PLC technology. If I passed the assessment, I could get the corresponding certificate.
The above are the various certificates I learned about in college. I hope it will be helpful to students majoring in electrical engineering.
