How to use the pipe expander?

How to use the tube expander: firstly, anneal the flared end of the copper tube and smooth it with a file, then put the copper tube into a fixture with a corresponding diameter, and tighten the fastening nut on the fixture to firmly clamp the copper tube.

When flaring, the nozzle must be higher than the surface of the fixture, and its height is slightly greater than the length of the chamfer bevel edge of the clamping hole. Then screw the cone head on the top wire of the bow frame, and fix the bow frame on the fixture so that the center of the cone head and the copper tube are in a straight line. Then turn the handle on the jacking screw clockwise to make the cone head support the nozzle, turn the screw evenly and slowly, turn the cone head down for 3/4 turn, and then turn it 1/4 turn in the opposite direction. Repeat this process and gradually enlarge the nozzle into a bell mouth. When tightening the screw, be careful not to use too much force to avoid cracking of the side wall of the copper tube. When flaring the bell mouth, a little refrigerant oil can be coated on the cone head to facilitate the lubrication of the bell mouth. Finally, the expanded bell mouth should be round, smooth and crack-free.

When expanding the cup mouth, the clamp must still firmly hold the copper tube, otherwise the copper tube will easily loosen and move when expanding, resulting in insufficient depth of the cup mouth. The height of the nozzle exposed from the surface of the fixture should be greater than the pipe diameter1~ 3 mm. According to the expansion depth and gap of different pipe diameters, a series of expansion joints matching with the pipe expander are formed. Generally, the pipe diameter less than 10mm is about 6 ~ 10 mm, and the clearance is 0.06 ~ 0. 10 mm ... When flaring, just fix the expansion head with the corresponding pipe diameter on the jacking screw of the bow frame, then fix the bow frame and slowly tighten the screw. The specific operation method is the same as when flaring the bell mouth.
