"* * * and the National Medal" is awarded to outstanding people who have made great contributions to the cause of the party, the country and the people, established outstanding feats, have high moral quality and are recognized by the masses.
National medals and national honorary titles are generally awarded 1 time every five years, held on the anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and can be awarded in time if necessary. This year is the first time that national medals and national honorary titles are awarded by centralized selection, and a grand award ceremony will be held on the eve of National Day.
According to the relevant laws and regulations, individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the construction and development of the people of China, including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, overseas Chinese and foreigners, can be nominated.
