What industries are TPU mainly used in?
TPU is short for thermoplastic polyurethane, and its Chinese name is thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer. TPU is a polymer material made of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), toluene diisocyanate (TDI), polymer polyol and chain extender. Its molecular structure consists of rigid blocks obtained by the reaction of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and chain extender, and flexible segments obtained by the reaction of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and macromolecular polyol. TPU has excellent characteristics of high tensile strength, high toughness and aging resistance, and is a mature environmental protection material. At present, TPU has been widely used in medical care, electronic appliances, industry and sports. It has the characteristics of high strength, good toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance, oil resistance, water resistance, aging resistance and weather resistance, and has many excellent functions such as high water resistance, moisture permeability, wind resistance, cold resistance, antibacterial, mildew resistance, warmth retention, ultraviolet resistance and energy release. 1. Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer TPU can be divided into polyester type and polyether type according to molecular structure, and can be divided into injection grade, extrusion grade and blow molding grade according to processing methods. The main features of TPU are: 1. High wear resistance: Taber wear index comparison between TPU and other materials (wear conditions: CS 17 wheel, 1000g/ wheel, 5000r/ M 23℃) Material wear (mg) Material wear (mg) TPU 0.5-3.5 natural rubber 146 nylon 6. Wide hardness range: products with different hardness can be obtained by changing the proportion of TPU reaction components, and with the increase of hardness, the products still maintain good elasticity. 3. High mechanical strength: TPU products have outstanding bearing capacity, impact resistance and shock absorption performance. Outstanding cold resistance: the glass transition temperature of TPU is relatively low, and it still maintains good physical properties such as elasticity and flexibility at MINUS 35 degrees. 4. Good processability: TPU can be processed by common processing methods of thermoplastic materials, such as injection, extrusion and calendering. At the same time, TPU can be processed with some polymer materials to obtain polymer alloys with complementary properties. 5. Oil resistance, water resistance and mildew resistance. 6. Good recycling. Second, the use of various TPU molding products: spherical couplings for automobile parts; Dust cover; Pedal brake; Door lock striker; Bushing leaf spring bushing; Bearing; Shock-proof parts; Interior and exterior decorative parts; Snow chains and other mechanical and industrial parts, all kinds of gears; Seal; Shock-proof parts; Mold-taking needle; Casing; Bearing cover; Connector; Rubber screen; Printed canvas beds and other footwear, such as softball shoes, baseball shoes, golf shoes, football shoe soles and forefoot ladies' heels; Ski boots; Other self-adjusting wheels, such as safety boots; Handle; Watchbands and other pipes, hoses and high-pressure pipes; Medical management; Oil pressure pipe; Pneumatic tube; Fuel pipe; Coating pipe conveying pipe; Rotating belts for films and plates, such as fire hoses; Air cushion; Diaphragm; Keyboard; Composite cloth and other wires and cables, power communication cables; Computer wiring; Automobile wiring; Exploration cables and other various annular pipelines; Annular belt; V-belt; Synchronous belt; Anti-skid belt equal pressure rotating belt; Soft tanks and tanks; Various film composite sheets and other blow-molded boxes for vehicles; All kinds of containers blow film ultra-thin and wide film (medical and health supplies) to dissolve welding materials; Adhesive; Coating of artificial leather, synthetic leather, rope, iron wire, gloves, etc. 3.TPU is mainly divided into the following types according to the application: 1. TPU for shoes is mainly used for shoe materials because of its excellent elasticity and wear resistance. The footwear products containing TPU are far superior to ordinary footwear products in wearing comfort, so they are widely used in high-grade footwear products, especially some sports shoes and casual shoes. 2. Film TPU is becoming more and more popular because of its superior performance and environmental protection concept. At present, TPU can replace PVC wherever it is used. TPU film can not only be attached to various fabrics, but also produce products with clear outline and stable size through vacuum thermoforming. With the continuous improvement of environmental awareness in China, the application of TPU is more and more extensive. Among them, the fields with rapid growth are: vamp lining, thermal underwear, transparent underwear, transparent shoulder strap, elastic band and medical breathable adhesive tape. 3. Adhesive TPU adhesive is a kind of polyurethane adhesive. Polyurethane adhesives have been widely used in Europe and America, especially in the use of footwear adhesives. TPU adhesive used in China is polyurethane adhesive obtained by dissolving TPU. In the use of TPU adhesives, Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang and Shanghai are the main areas. 4. Hose TPU hoses are widely used as gas and oil hoses for airplanes, tanks, automobiles, motorcycles, machine tools and other mechanical equipment in China because of their flexibility, good tensile strength and impact strength. The main hose manufacturers of TPU are concentrated in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei and other places. 5.TPU provides tear resistance, wear resistance and bending characteristics for wires, and high and low temperature resistance is the key to cable performance. Therefore, in China market, TPU used for high-grade cables such as control cables and power cables is used to protect coating materials of complex cables, and its application is increasingly extensive. 6. Polyurethane elastomer for roller is widely used in roller because of its high mechanical strength, excellent wear resistance, excellent oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance and outstanding pressure resistance. There are mainly the following kinds of rollers in China: industrial rollers, household rollers, sports equipment wheels, medical equipment wheels and toy wheels. 7. Plastic modification can be used to plasticize PA and ABS, but the cost is high. 8. Ink TPU ink has the following main advantages: excellent adhesion, low viscosity, good bending flexibility, excellent wear resistance, high gloss and weather resistance, and can resist any sun exposure including ultraviolet radiation, showing excellent toughness and durability in various application fields. The inks made of aromatic and aliphatic TPU can be used in various climatic and environmental conditions, and the products have stable and excellent properties. TPU ink has the characteristics of smooth appearance, good shading, alcohol resistance and strong adhesion, and is mainly suitable for surface decoration of TPU and other plastics. Such as mobile phones, notebook computers, shoes, car leather chairs, sofas, high-grade leather goods, handbags, inflatable entertainment TPU products, umbrellas, raincoats and other TPU inks are used on metal and glass, with poor attach rate and easy paint removal.
