Types of management paradigm

For a long time after the founding of New China, China implemented the socialist planned economic system. Accordingly, the people, finances, materials, production, supply and sales of enterprises in China are all arranged by the state as a whole. State-owned enterprises have no operational autonomy, cannot be responsible for their own profits and losses, and can only passively accept the mandatory plans of the state. The task of an enterprise is to produce according to the national mandatory plan. The management paradigm formed in these decades can be called production management paradigm.

Production-oriented management paradigm is the product of planned economy, which plays an important role in promoting the coordinated operation of planned economy. However, with the continuous advancement of China's economic system reform to the socialist market economic system, the limitations of the production management paradigm have gradually emerged, mainly in the following aspects:

1) Enterprises lack operational autonomy and become vassals of the government;

2) The management of the enterprise lacks the necessary incentive and restraint mechanism, which leads to the low production and operation efficiency of the enterprise and the lack of enthusiasm and initiative of employees;

3) Enterprises do not or rarely carry out technological innovation and transformation, and their production technology is relatively backward;

4) Lack of long-term production and operation. At present, this old production management paradigm has gradually changed to the technological innovation management paradigm. The characteristic of technological innovation management paradigm is to fully activate the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of enterprise employees, increase the input of technology, information and knowledge through the operation of intangible assets such as brands, patents and trademarks, and improve the cultural added value of products to meet the needs of international and domestic competition and meet people's growing consumer demand.

The main features of the technological innovation management paradigm are:

1) Enterprises are thoroughly remoulded under the new system, operating independently and taking responsibility for their own profits and losses;

2) Enterprises have changed from focusing only on the output and quantity of products to focusing on both the output and quantity of products and the innovation and quality of products;

3) Enterprises not only attach importance to production and operation, but also pay special attention to technology development, technology introduction and technology innovation;

4) The enterprise has established an effective incentive and restraint mechanism to effectively mobilize the enthusiasm, initiative and creativity of employees.

In addition, according to the content characteristics of management paradigm, management paradigm can also be summarized into other types.
