Patent technology of Citroen suspension

As a benchmark car company in France, people always say his chassis number when they mention him, so everyone in the Jianghu calls him "the chassis master". Is it really so magical to be as stable as a tiger at high speed? What is the reason?

First of all, let's talk about why Citroen's chassis is good and why it can get the title of "chassis master".

First of all, we should make it clear that chassis and suspension are two different concepts. The chassis is composed of transmission system, running system, steering system and braking system, which is the matrix of the whole vehicle, and the suspension is a part of the running system.

Suspension can be divided into passive suspension and active suspension, and active suspension can be divided into air suspension, electromagnetic suspension and hydraulic suspension. All sects in the Jianghu have their own unique skills, and cars are no exception. Hydraulic suspension can be said to be Citroen's unique skills and Citroen's most conspicuous capital.

Citroen has released many innovative suspension systems in history: the first one is the hydraulic-pneumatic suspension equipped on DS model 1954, which is also one of the most famous suspension systems in Citroen history; The second is the active hydraulic suspension introduced by 1989; Third, the active anti-roll hydraulic suspension introduced by 1994; The fourth is the third generation active hydraulic suspension introduced in 2000, which is equipped on the first generation C5. The fifth paragraph is an upgraded version of the third generation active hydraulic suspension first equipped on C6 in 2005. This is also a point that many car companies can't match. But the designers of Citroen are too fashionable for China people to appreciate.

Although the definitions of chassis and suspension are different, there are still many similarities. The reason why Citroen has the title of "chassis master" is mainly because most of its models adopt unique suspension methods.

Citroen's front and rear suspension systems are different to some extent. Generally speaking, the first half is slightly soft, which can reduce the slight vibration caused by fine gravel, and the second half is stronger, which can pass through uneven roads at a faster speed. On the one hand, the bearing capacity of the chassis is increased, and the strength is very high, which makes the front wheel steering more accurate.

And Citroen's calibration technology. Vehicle comfort has a great relationship with the adjustment of chassis suspension. Citroen adopts rear wheel follow-up steering technology. By adding an elastic rubber pad at the joint between the rear axle and the car body, when the car turns, the rubber pad is squeezed by the torque of the car body, and the rear axle deflects at a small angle, which can greatly improve the driving stability and maneuverability of the car.

Therefore, it is not so much a "chassis master" as a "suspension master".
