Guangdong University of Technology was formed by the merger of Guangdong Institute of Technology, Guangdong Institute of Machinery and South China Institute of Architecture on June 1995. The school is located in Guangzhou, a famous city in the south of China, with a total campus area of 3,348 mu (about 2,232,000 square meters) and school buildings 1.590 square meters. It has Guangzhou University Town Campus and several campuses such as Dongfeng Road, Longdong and Panyu.
