Our college gives each candidate five minutes to present their research results and research plans with PPT, and then the judges ask some questions about your research results, and finally come up with the results.
The main content of defending PPT is research results, including scientific research results and award-winning results. These should be emphasized, followed by research planning, and other self-introduction and social practice can be said or not (depending on the time). Scientific research results are your published papers, in which the name of the paper, journal name, time, serial number and page number can be clearly written. The focus is on the level of journals published. Our school requires that papers must be published in CSSCI-level journals and higher-level journals (A, B, C and so on), and the requirements are very strict. The award-winning achievements are various competitions and exhibitions sponsored by provincial and ministerial associations and national associations, and the international level is even better. Award-winning results should not only clearly write the name of the competition, awards, but also clearly write the organizer. If the level of research results is not enough, the teacher will be sarcastic (so look at the requirements of your school. If the level is not enough, don't write it, or it will be a blow). If the level is enough, the teacher will know more about it and ask you some questions after you finish your presentation. You just have to press PPT to say it well and then answer it well.
There are more than a dozen judges in our college, and the dean, vice president, secretary and deputy secretary are certainly there, as well as excellent tutors from various majors in our college. In fact, all the materials are submitted in advance, and the judges and teachers have a form to fill in clearly. The defense is to impress the teachers and then eliminate those messy and unqualified awards. If your success is really fruitful, don't worry, just elaborate. The final result was discussed by the judges. In the case of fruitful results, generally, there is one person for each major according to the quota (if some majors are weak and no one has strong research results, they will naturally be eliminated because the quota is very small). During the discussion, tutors are very important, because the teachers of the whole college are there, and tutors of each major will strive for the interests of their own majors.
Our college is a qualified doctoral and master's defense in the whole college, and the allocation of doctoral and master's places is different. There is no need to draw lots (some colleges do), and the formal defense will be started at 9: in the morning, and the PPT will be copied in the conference room at 8: 4. If you are late, you will automatically abstain. There was only one student in the defense, and all the students were surrounded by teachers (our college used a conference room, and the teacher was sitting next to you, which was very stressful). The next student waited outside, one by one, and the other students waited in another classroom. We defended in the morning, announced the results in the afternoon, and then worked out the formula for a few days.
