1. Guangxi University of Science and Technology is an ordinary institution of higher learning directly managed by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The school is located in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
2. The school's predecessor, Guangxi Institute of Technology, was founded in 1958 and merged with Guangxi Institute of Light Industry, Guangxi Institute of Mechanical Industry and Guangxi Institute of Petrochemical Technology in 1982. 1985 moved from Nanning to Liuzhou to run a school.
