On December 18, 2010, United Trucks and United Power held a grand brand launch and product launch ceremony. As the core strategic alliance of United Trucks, United Power also released its own power brand. At the same time, It indicates that the YC6K12 engine is officially launched.
The YC6K product series has three displacements: 10.5L, 12L and 13L. The emissions can meet the needs of Country 3 to Country 5 and even Euro 6; the power can cover 300~560 horsepower and is suitable for diesel (or LNG/CNG/methanol) and other single fuel and dual fuel engines. The mean mileage between failures is 100,000 km; in terms of B10 life, the K10 series can reach more than 1 million km, and the K12 series can reach more than 1.6 million km.
The YC6K series engines of Yuchai United Power Co., Ltd. are independently developed based on the Mercedes-Benz DD13/15 engine. They integrate the latest technological achievements in the world and have more than 30 technical invention patents. For the first time, reliability growth technology has been used in the engine industry, breaking through the reliability weakness of Chinese manufacturing; introducing innovative applications of precision combustion and electronic control technology, engine reverse cross-flow cooling technology, high-strength materials and efficient engine cylinder braking technology, significantly improving It extends the service life of the engine and has the technical level of the latest mass-produced engines in Europe in 2012.
1. Low fuel consumption
The actual technical performance indicators achieved by 6K are all ahead of similar domestic engines, and the key fuel consumption indicators and specific weight indicators are among the world's advanced levels. For example, the minimum fuel consumption and rated point fuel consumption are 5 to 8 times lower than the world's advanced level; the main structural parts are made of high-strength vermicular graphite cast iron, and the engine weight is 15 times less than that of traditional engines.
2. High-efficiency reverse cooling technology
The coolant flows from the cylinder head into the cylinder block for cooling. The coolant flow rate is high and the cooling efficiency is higher, making the injector installation area cooler than traditional diesel engines. By reducing the temperature by about 15°C, the engine can withstand burst pressures up to 220bar, and the engine reliability has been greatly improved.
3. Overhead camshaft technology (SOHC)
China’s first overhead camshaft four-valve medium-sized diesel engine that meets Euro 3/Euro 4/Euro 5/Euro 6 requirements. The valvetrain has high stiffness and lower noise than traditional diesel engines.
4. Integrated integral cylinder head
The cylinder head integrates the intake pipe, making the engine structure more compact and fundamentally reducing the failure of the intake pipe and its related parts.
5. High explosion pressure technology
Using wet cylinder head, upper stop support, uniform cylinder head bolt arrangement, assisted by advanced high-speed water flow cooling technology, the cylinder bore deformation is small , which significantly improves the engine's brake fuel consumption rate BSFC index, engine oil consumption, B10 life and reliability, etc.; the performance recovery after overhaul is high. The gantry-type cylinder block, the main main bearing cap with side pressure fit, and the bottom reinforcement plate significantly increase the engine stiffness and reduce deformation, allowing the cylinder block main bearing seat to withstand explosive forces up to 220bar while achieving the best NVH characteristics. Residual stress annealing technology of compacted graphite iron (Rut400) cylinder block and head material castings ensures that the residual stress is less than 50MPa.
6. Rear-mounted cast aluminum gear chamber
Rear-mounted gear chamber, the crankshaft system has small vibration, low noise and powerful function. At the same time, it meets the installation of independent rails and single pump systems. Using a lightweight high-strength designed cast aluminum flywheel housing, the engine is lighter and consumes less fuel.
7. Completely mid-mounted PTO shaft
The efficient POT output is an optional configuration, with an output torque of up to 100Nm, meeting the needs of engineering vehicles such as cement mixers.
8. In-cylinder braking technology
Using high-efficiency exhaust brakes produced by the American JACOBS company, the braking power is up to 25kW/L, and the braking reliability is higher.
9. Integrated oil cooling system, low maintenance cost
The oil cooler integrates the engine filter, water pump and thermostat into one, with compact structure and powerful functions. The clever water inlet and outlet arrangement makes the oil cooler cooling efficiency higher. Water flow resistance is lower.
The corresponding maintenance costs are low.
10. Front-end gear train enhancement technology
The front-end gear train layout is optimized and designed by professional gear train supplier Gates of Germany to ensure that the engine gear train works more reliably. B10 has a lifespan of up to 1 million kilometers.
