The registration of EU design patents requires the following information:
1. Applicant information (name, address and nationality);
2. Designer information (name, address and nationality);
3. Priority documents (if any);
4. Product photos or drawings (different views).
The design should be represented by at least one view, but each design can submit up to seven views, plus three additional unprotected views, but designs with more than seven views will not be reflected in the EU certificate of appearance. This also applies to multiple applications, each of which is designed to allow up to seven views. If more than seven comments are submitted, EUIPO will ignore any other comments for the purpose of registration and publication, and will adopt them in the order of applicant number.
The applicant can submit one or more application documents, the only requirement is that each design belongs to the same product category. Classification can be judged according to Locarno classification.
