The mainstream in the market is blue led. By covering the LED lamp with a layer of phosphor powder that emits yellow light, the blue light and yellow light are added to generate white light, and then red, blue and green light are emitted through the color filter. This is WLED, and it is also the cheapest way of LED backlight. However, because LED itself emits blue light, the blue light level of WLED display screen is much higher than that of red and green in spectrum. Moreover, the color gamut of general WLED backlight displays will not be too prominent.
The color gamut of WLED is not good enough, but it is the most cost-effective choice for display backlight. Is it possible to upgrade WLED to a high color gamut? This is the origin of KSF·WLED.
