2, from the current mode of production and operation in rural areas, the main sources of income of rural residents are the following five parts:
(1) Income from household agricultural production and operation: This is the most important and stable way for farmers to obtain income after the household contract system is implemented.
According to statistics, in 2000, the income from agricultural production and operation of peasant families still accounted for 65.5% of the total family income. Therefore, this part of the income source, mainly agricultural farming, is still the basic part of rural household operating income.
(2) Non-farm income of rural households: This is a new bright spot of farmers' income diversification with the deepening of China's economic reform, mainly including the income of secondary and tertiary industries such as industry and commerce carried out by farmers outside the family farm operation.
This is an important point to increase the income of rural farmers, and it is also an important content to develop rural market economy and prosper rural economy.
(3) Migrant workers' income: With the emergence of "migrant workers' tide" in the late 1980s and early 1990s, under the wave of reform and opening up, migrant workers have become a new choice for farmers to obtain income other than agricultural income. This is a kind of wage income. In 2000, the proportion of this income in the whole country and the eastern, central and western regions was 14.7%, 14.5%, 15.4% and 14.2% respectively.
This kind of income has become an important entry point to increase farmers' income and narrow the gap between urban and rural areas with its broad growth space. A large number of migrant workers have also become an important driving force for urbanization and modernization in China.
(4) Collective economic income: When the collective economy such as township enterprises just emerged after the reform and opening up, the collective economic income was once an important source of farmers' income. However, in recent years, various forms of rural collective economy have encountered problems such as capital, technology, management, talents and market, and the growth of this income has gradually begun to be weak.
(5) Other income: including all kinds of property investment income, transfer income from government finance or supporting agriculture policies, income from renting and selling property, income from gifts from relatives and friends, etc.
