The conditions for the postgraduate re-examination are as follows:
1. Requirements for preliminary examination scores.
Generally speaking, the score difference for public courses that adopts a hundred-point system is required to be no more than 3 points for a single subject, and basically all schools do not exceed 5 points. In addition, if the professional course or the overall score is very excellent, it is generally required that the score of the professional course should not be less than 140 points, or the single subject ranking of the professional course should reach the top 5 or top 10 level, and the overall score should be ranked in the top 5 to 10 name. (Some schools only require overall performance ranking)
2. Outstanding performance in related fields.
Those who have made significant scientific research achievements or won some higher-level competition awards (such as published papers, authorized patents, and high-level competition awards) during the undergraduate period may also have a certain opportunity to enter the postgraduate re-examination.
3. Others.
Only candidates of their first choice (including the school and major reported during online registration) can apply for the exceptional admission policy. After applying for an exceptional re-examination, candidates are not allowed to participate in adjustments. In principle, the number of students admitted by each enrollment unit for the special re-examination shall not exceed 3 of the unit's full-time master's degree enrollment plan.
To sum up, the exceptional re-examination is a "re-examination channel" specially opened for candidates with particularly outstanding abilities in certain aspects.
Candidates whose scores in the public subjects of the preliminary examination are slightly lower than the basic requirements of the national preliminary examination, but whose scores in professional subjects are particularly excellent or who have outstanding performance in scientific research and innovation, may be allowed to apply for their first choice as an exception. Re-examination for the unit’s first choice major (hereinafter referred to as the special re-examination).
Exceptional re-examinations should give priority to basic subjects, difficult majors, and subjects and majors that are urgently needed by the country but have relatively insufficient student resources. For majors with insufficient qualified students for one choice, the admissions unit must actively make adjustments and shall not lower the standards and conduct exceptional re-examinations simply to complete the enrollment plan or protect the number of students for one choice. Admissions majors with sufficient qualified students (including transferred students) generally do not require special re-examinations. Candidates who take the special re-examination are not allowed to make adjustments.
