The project is moving forward at an alarming rate. In less than two weeks, the team completed the work that usually takes two months to complete. After that, it took them seven days to develop and manufacture the mask production equipment, which used to take 15 to 30 days. At the same time, BYD also completed the research and development of medical-grade hand sanitizer in six days, and it took only eight days to send it to the first-line medical staff.
BYD's strong R&D strength, coupled with its manufacturing level and innovative ability, enables the company to mass-produce high-quality masks in a short time. The production of masks requires impeccable clean and sterile environment and equipment, and BYD's previous smart phone assembly clean room is just suitable for this. A high-quality mask production line needs 1300 parts, including various gears, chains and rollers, 90% of which are made by BYD.
