In a car race in new york, a racer tied himself and his partner to the seat with several belts to prevent being thrown out of the car at high speed. During the race, the car they were driving accidentally rushed into the audience, causing two deaths and dozens of injuries, but these racers escaped because of their seat belts. These seat belts have also become the prototype of car seat belts. When they were first used in cars, the lives of users were saved.

1922

Sports cars on the track began to use seat belts;

1955

Ford takes seat belts as an optional configuration, and the first model with seat belts as standard is Saab Saab93GT750.

Although more and more cars are equipped with seat belts, the seat belts installed on cars at that time were all two-point seat belts tied at the waist. Due to design defects, this seat belt still has potential safety hazards. When the car brakes suddenly or collides, it is impossible to avoid the driver's head hitting the steering wheel or windshield and causing casualties.

1959

Volvo engineer NilsBohlin invented the three-point seat belt. The safety test results show that when there is a collision accident, the vehicle using this three-point seat belt can greatly reduce the casualty rate of the people in the vehicle.

This invention has far-reaching influence. From its birth to today, it has saved people's lives in tens of thousands of accidents. Moreover, it was rated as one of the eight most important inventions in the past 100 by the German Patent Office.

1968

The United States stipulates that seat belts should be installed in front seats of automobiles. Subsequently, Europe, Japan and other developed countries have successively formulated the regulations that car occupants must wear seat belts.

1992

The Ministry of Public Security of China issued a notice on 1 992165438+10/5, stipulating that from1July 9931day, all passenger cars (including cars, jeeps, vans and mini-cars) will be banned.

After more than 4 0 years of development, car seat belts have gradually matured. Nowadays, seat belts are made of high-strength synthetic fiber with self-locking retractor, and the three-point design can restrain the shoulders and waist of drivers and passengers at the same time.
